1) We are generally a dumb team. The big VPI QB run had a defensive play call to overload the left side, i.e. two guys on the outside. Eley was on the inside but chose to run outside which was incredibly dumb. Changed the game.
2) We play to our competition. This is likely an upperclassman issue. But we play to our competition and slowly get down....
3) "Oh, we should play harder now!" This is common when players go "oh crap, how did we get here...we should play harder"
4) Our coaches are way too slow to react to what the defense is doing....
5) Defensively we are a really dumb team.
5b) Can't our coaches figure out you are are not going to stop any back from getting a first down on Third and 2 when defending with the 3-3-6. Watch the Ravens and see how to do this already and bring in another bruising inside guy.

6) Offensively we are a dumb team. On a key 2nd 8, our back is juking and doing everything except bowl over somebody and get a couple of extra yards.
7) This sets up 3nd and 3 and our back is juking and doing everything except bowl over somebody and get a couple of extra yards. So we punt on three downs when we needed to get something going.
8) Our 70 yard runner could have gone straight ahead and got us down to the 8 yard line or better. Nope, we have to fall down again.
9) Who's stupid decision was it for the artificial turf that only the opponent doesn't seem to slip on?
10) I wanted to go for it on 4th and 2 at 12 yard line too, but the right play is to kick the FG OR
11) Call something other than the bulldozing back up the middle against an 8 man front. Call that on second down to set up third and fourth down doing the same.

I love how every couple years or so we go back and remember the 1990 team, but it’s just because we know we won’t be anywhere close to a natty anytime soon

I'm embarrassed and sad GOL had to watch that

When he was being interviewed I was thinking that this team needs a serious George O'Leary kick in the butt! Oklahoma drills for everybody. We choose to try to be a (highly confused) speed team on defense. On third and 2, it just doesn't work already!

It's not that we lose, it's how we lose. This could be my absolute least favorite team to watch and I'm sorry to say it but that is on Money Down Guy.

Tariq Carpenter, Juanyeh Thomas and Trey Swilling all used to look like top tier ACC DB/Safeties. What the hell happened?

Who is #14. Check out another incredibly stupid play on him early in the game. We can not tackle anybody one on one.

And we continue to not hit any back except above the numbers. Knees and lower thighs take people down. God who coached this team....They literally spent the whole off season grabbing and hitting for a loose ball and can't do the basics.

I bet we see significant staff changes in the off-season.

The good assistants will start bailing.

Yes probably true. We have no depth in the OL, and lose our two best OL this year. Who would want to coach that mess?

Some of the others, it's hard to figure. For example, it's hard to put on a good rush with 3 down linemen.

Collins was a defensive backs coach at one time. This is his influence.

the only assistant anybody has tried to poach is Key (at least that we know about) and our O line is pretty suspect
If our assistants were that good, perhaps somebody would have tried to lure them away, since we don't pay that well compared to others?
What we run on O now is similar to everybody else. Don't have the triple option explanation anymore.
Choice is a good recruiter, but why hasn't a Texas or an A&M or a Oklahoma, programs with money to burn, brought him there, with his background at North Texas and his connections there?
