Harrison Butker's speech at Tech graduation

Butker appears to be proof you can have it all… great job, big family, local community, religious family. Very happy that his life is going so well, looking forward to him continuing to be an ambassador for the sport for decades to come.
So he doesn’t really have it all.

He has no strippers or cocaine.

His speech was refreshing amidst tons of other graduation 'woke' speeches that universities are peddling these days. Some of the speeches at more liberal universities by liberal/woke guest speakers makes kids never want to graduate to face the real world and instead crawl into a fetal position and hide or be mad at the whole world. He talked about family and not being afraid of being silenced and that $$ wasn't everything despite his millions he's making. I used to work with his mom at Emory and they've always been a humble, grounded family.

Hey, I went to the evening graduation and heard the Secretary of State speak. Other than a "what's the good word?" and his adoration of Mr. George P. Burdell, I don't remember squat about what he said.

Talked to some students who were graduating in the evening who went to the morning session for their friends and they said it was weird. I think they were a bit put off by Butker telling folks to get married and have kids.

They are raised today by major societal institutions and the zeitgeist to disdain marriage and family, and it’s even at places like Tech now. They never hear it, unless to pit it down, so I would definitely think it’s weird to them to hear it framed as a positive. Good for Butker for giving them a different take.

Marriage can be great and it also can be absolute torture. The graduates will find that out on their own. I guess Butker felt the desire to give his positive spin. Good for him. It’s better than the guy screaming “We can do that because we are Georgia Tech”.

This ends sorta abruptly, making me wonder if this is indeed the entire speech, but what is included is definitely good in my book.

Harrison may be on the FBI's terrorist watchlist
