Has anyone posted the Taz Anderson email to Rad

Taz Anderson is a bonafide dummy with too much time and too little sense.

If you're not a yes man, you must be a mutt.

I'll bet Taz is one... better start a Stingtalk poll on this guy, too! :laugher:

Guys with REAL power and sense don't start pussy email campaigns.

LMAO! I almost gave up, but reading this thread paid off at the end! Great line BOR.

"On the subject of Taz, my recollection is that he wasn't that much of a player, but is a letterman who happened to hit it big due to either his hard work or luck (don't know the man or how he made his money)."

It amazes me that so few of Taz Anderson's detractors here and on The Hive know anything about him. You really lose credibility when you admit that you don't. He was a two year starter for Bobby Dodd and he played a number of years in the NFL when not many did. I'm not defending him personally nor his email campaign, but the people the email was sent to were primarily big time contributors and ex-lettermen. I doubt that any of you "experts" were on the distribution list, so no need to get your panties in a wad. He's been trying for some time - not very successfully, I have heard - to get GT supporters with influence to join his efforts. But if you really disagree with his method and want to discuss the subject with him, he's not hard to find. He's almost always at GT basketball games, sitting in his floor level seats at Alexander next to the TV announcers. Chat him up.

People who don't know who Taz Anderson is really shouldn't be commenting. The guy is a former GT and NFL and a fabulously successful entrepeneur. If you have ever read "A Man in Full" by Tom Wolfe, the main character is supposedly based on him among others.

What exactly would have been a more appropriate way to deal with this issue if you felt like Taz does? He sent a private e-mail to a select group of people. Other people brought it to a messageboard.

Taz should stick to his areas of competence. If he was pro-Lewis and anti-Ross, picking football coaches is clearly not one of those.

His primary area of competence that I am aware of is building grotesque structures, such as the RED torch across the street from GT or those hideous peaches atop buildings.

There's nothing wrong with Taz sending emails to any Tech supporters, administrators, etc as he'd like to. As I've said many times, what I have a problem with is when he goes to the newspapers as he's done on occassion. Much like my problem with Coleman Rudolph, it's not whether he likes or supports Chan or any of our coaches. It's about how they go about it. My view is when anyone who's perceived as a Tech insider goes public it's wrong. Much as an employee of a company complaining about policy after it's been decided. There's a right way and a wrong way. To run to the paper is simply crying when you don't get your way IMO.

And if I've slandered Taz's accomplishments I apologize. I honestly don't recall his playing exploits and don't know how he made his money. But my point is none of that really matters.

JTS -

A Man In Full is not a complementary book. I would not want to be the guy in that book. Taz shouldn't be proud of that either.

Taz has a LOT to be proud of. The reference that he was part of the conglomerate of people that created the main character from A Man In Full is not one it though.

Wolfe pretty much lost me for good after that final melt down anyway. I don't read his books anymore. Too much to read to get to such a disappointing end.

Don't forget his ever popular war on the color Blue in GT's color schemes. If it was up to Taz, we'd have only Gold and White in our uniforms with no accent color and look more like the Men's Olympic Greek Diving Team than a college football team. I'm sure he went ape sh*t when he saw GT parade out in the ACCCG with blue uni's.

I only read the first couple chapters of it, but A Man in Full had a star Georgia Tech running back raping the white daughter of a prominent Atlanta businessman.

I'm not sure if you want to use that book in support of anything...

I thought the perp for 'war on blue' (lol!) was Drew Hearn?
