I really just try not to get caught up in the rankings/ratings. There is so much detail out there now in terms of the kids character, grades, measurables, and video....you can tell a lot without hearing some opinion of a "fan turned internet writer".

Best post on this subject to date. Good job hiveredtech. I agree with you as I also agreed with BOR about the stars.
 
Wasn't Jimmy Dixon the top rated RB out of Texas that year? How in the world can a guy led the state of Texas in rushing and walk out a 3 star?

I could be totally wrong, here, but as best as I can recall, he was a 4 star until he commited to Tech, at which time he was downgraded to a 3.
 
Techfowl, Jimmy Dixon was decently rated. Only one person had Jimmy as Super high in the country and that was Max Emfinger. The same guy who said Emmitt Smith wouldn't amount to ****.
 
Our recruits would get a half to a full star more if they signed with the Wal-Mart schools around the Southeast.
We just don't buy enough of the "premium" propaganda these guys are selling.

I have zero problem with these people at scout and rivals making their customers happy, but see it for what it is!!
 
LB Loreno Edwards went from 4 star to 5 star when he switched to UF a few weeks ago. He'd still be a 4 star if he stayed at Tech.
That's why I like our 4 star class this year.
