Helmet Color

The new gold is more of the old gold color found in the older jerseys.
 
yeah... the last few years we've been using "vegas gold" which has a slight greenish tint.

seems we're going back to "old gold", a little paler, less green, more yellow.

Are you trying to say that the new gold is more of the old gold in the old old gold jerseys that they wore in 2006 but not the old gold jerseys from 2007?

Old Gold is darker than vegas gold.
Pepper's teams had and old gold jersey that was much like ucla.
I have a picture and will post it if and when I can locate.
One is with Leo Teirney and Tony Daykin not sure of the year may have been Pepper's 1st.

Maybe, but what I might be saying is that the new gold helmets are like the older gold helmets. Not the older gold helmets from 1980's, 90's and up until last year. More like a new gold reflection of the old gold colors of the 50's and 60's and even 70's. The mustard yellow gold if you will. So the New Gold Helmets, kind of like the Old Old Gold Helmets reflect a more mustardy gold color reminiscent of the gold from the Dodd era.
So you have the old gold, the new gold, and the newest gold which is like the old gold but not to be confused with the new gold.

That's basically what I was going for there... People talk about how we have bad luck in certain uni's (all white from Chan's first bowl/ navy tops- white pants in ACCCG).

I was shooting for the good luck of the 1990 uni's :biggthumpup:

Looks much closer to the "traditional" gold of the 60s and 70s to me.
 
I'm going to allude to a quote made by Beej. No one here has a right to submit commentary.

We can't project any unity with what we wear to the game. What gives us the right to criticize what the players are told to wear?

I love the gold on the helmets. I love the players wearing the helmets. I can't wait to see them running behind the RR! I don't care what what shade they are.

TO HELL WITH gEORGIA!

Also, to allude what someone typed in another thread about gA..... I don't want to be like them, I don't want Tech players trying to be like gA players..... I just want gA to shut up and die.
 
It amazes me how every time there is a thread on uniforms that it gets more action than any other thread on the board. Is this what everyone really cares about? The shade of gold and whether or not there are stripes on the shoulders? Give me a break.

Why do so many of you hate the pants anyway? They're the exact same color as the throwback jerseys we wore in 2006 against UVA, and everyone seemed to like those. At least we're not wearing purple.
