My wife and I are coming up to the UM whiteout game with 3 other couples. we are staying at the Crown Plaza and are looking to find a Bar/ lounge for a celebratory cocktail or two after the game.....preferably some place with music fairly close to our lodging. We are all in our mid 60's to early 70's. I have been gone from the ATL for close to 50 years now. Could some one make any recommendations of where to go.....TIA.

I don't know ATL but the Clemson game is the whiteout, not UM. Safe travels!

I've never been there, but some quick google mapping led me to Proof and Provision which might fit your criteria. Craft cocktails and a few blocks from your hotel. If you're willing to walk a little further, Grain looks like a possibility as well.

In walking distance of the stadium and your hotel, your options are somewhat limited.

Cypress Street Pint and Plate is good. Publik Draft house used to be OK right next to the Fox but I haven't been in awhile. Across the street is the Georgian Terrace Hotel which has a nice bar called Proof and Provision. Likewise, the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center has a nice bar on 5th Street. I don't think any of them will have music, but maybe the Terrace bar.

If none of those sound good, take a short Uber up to Crescent Ave and Front Page News or Ri Ra (pub) or meet @Akinji07 at Opera.

A slightly longer Lyft ride will get you to Moondogs, which certainly had live music the last time I was there 15 years ago. But leave the ladies at the Crowne Plaza :heelclick:

I would second @Architorture23's recommendation of the Georgian Terrace. If you have the opportunity you might look into changing your reservations to there. Beautiful property across from the Fox. Great bar and should be comfortable for you guys.

Cheers!

Thanks guys. I yelped and it looks like proof and provisions in the Georgian Terrace. No music but we're getting too old for that anyway. Now lets just win the game...........go Jackets.

Hey, Whitbee, I'm just admiring that you increased your 14.5 year postings by 33% on one page of one thread.

Absolutely incredible! BOR, top that stat!

If you want good advice on this listen to the only guy closest to your age. Rest of these clowns have no ööööing idea what they're talking about. All the places they recommended are full of 20 some year old yuppie douchebags. Take coit's advice.

Agree. Go with Georgian Terrace. Moondogs was douche bag central back in the mid-2000's and I'd probably end up stabbing someone in the ööööing eye if I went there now. Cypress Street probably has a decent mix on gamedays but it'll be crowded.

Stay away from Bulldog's on Peachtree, as the Miami fans will have that place down on lock.

Hard Rock Cafe 215 P'tree St.

The two bars there, proof and provision and the Livingston are good. I ended up at one for nye a few years ago and it was perfect. Not over crowded drunk fest but good drinks an a mature crowd. I've heard good things about el scorpion too but have never been there.

We had our company holiday party at the crown plaza this past year. I went to publik draft house before it for a drink and it was overcrowded.

Wait, this isn't a swinger request?

Btw Georgia Tech hotel bar is really nice too. Low volume smooth music, full bar, tvs, pool table and not too crowded. The only reason architorture didn't tell you about it is because he likes to go there and he wants to keep it to himself.
