Help an ol' Geezer

Btw Georgia Tech hotel bar is really nice too. Low volume smooth music, full bar, tvs, pool table and not too crowded. The only reason architorture didn't tell you about it is because he likes to go there and he wants to keep it to himself.
you may be legally retarded.

Given the average ̶a̶g̶e̶ wisdom of your group and the fact that you haven't been back to Atlanta in ~50 years, I'd recommend checking out Polaris downtown at the Hyatt Regency. It's a bit quieter than the other places that have been suggested, has an excellent midcentury lounge vibe, and has cocktails and food far above what you'd expect from a hotel restaurant\bar. On top of that, you get a stellar view of Atlanta thanks to the rotating bar. They close at Midnight, but you should be able to get a celebratory drink or two in by then.

I worked most of my way through GT at the HRA, it was a really special place back then,68-72. Polaris today is pretty well surrounded by taller buildings(gone are the days when you could see Stone Mtn from there).

A better choice might be the Parasol , located in the main lobby, where you could hear music from the piano bar in the Kobenhavn Lounge, and feed your drink garnish to the birds in the two story birdcage.

Georgia Tech Hotel is a good place. My wife and I stay there. We are old people.
