Courtesy of the Macon Telegraph, I think we might have a surprise for both the fans and the opposing teams come fall. A friend of mine pointed out that it wasn't a good idea to run trick plays during a televised spring game (the UGAg game actually). So that lead me to an idea after reading this article:
http://www.macon.com/techtalk/?plck...e9-49a9-b484-f4e8e1580b33&sid=pluck.macon.com

Here it points out that there were few to none run-and-shoot plays during the spring game, and I don't remember hearing anything much else about it from scrimmages this spring. Despite this Roddy Jones says that the run-n-shoot is coming along nicely. Basically it seems like this is something that people aren't going to really know how much we can do with it until we actually start throwing it at em in a game.

However, if it turns out the run-n-shoot come up plenty this spring, feel free to call me a dip****.

Not being at the game, I can't say how much if any of the run and shoot was executed........Dip****:laugher:

DIP****!

CPJ said they weren't going to give anything away at the spring game. So I guess now everybody thinks we fumble a lot and can't kick worth a damn.

Nice job.

We may not be able to kick worth a damn but our head coach is a helluva punt blocker

Of course we're not giving anything away. In fact, Shaw intentionally fumbled as much as he did. We need to give the other teams a sense of security, idiots.

We didn't do anything new in the game. For that matter, we did not even run the Triple option much. Most of the plays were reverses and what seemed like designed pitches and QB keeps (which is the primary reason I think many felt that the QB's were misreading a lot of plays).

The run and shoot was never called, although Coach Johnson has been talking about installing that for a few months. I think we will see the newer plays more during Fall practice, when the practices are closed, as opposed to now, which is more about getting your rhythm back, and polishing the fundamentals.

As a fan, I didn't give anything away either. I didn't sit in my actual seats (new section for me this season) --keeping the element of surprise open for the fall. I only had one beer before the game, my coke was not spiked, I remained relatively subdued throughout ---and I wore navy.

So that's why we saw so many fumbles.:D

The only thing I saw was the inside shovel pass to the A-back, which isn't something I recall seeing us do last year. I also only saw the highlight reel though.

Call me an idiot if you like, but I thought all our pass plays were 'run and shoot' plays.

And in terms of passing, I saw quite a bit. We went 4 deep on one of Tevin's TD passes, and we hit that come-back route at the corner several times for a first down. I thought our passing didn't look too terrible, honestly.

It wasnt terrible if you were playin Duck Hunt... however I wont argue with the end result that there weren't any picks, I'll take it however I can get it. Either way I guess its all conjecture b/c i dont expect Tevin to get much(if any) meaningful playing time this season

Honestly I don't think any other quarterback but Nesbitt will play unless Nesbitt is physically unable to do so, not even including fatigued.
