1)Jacksonville State: I think GT really tees off on the Gamecocks getting a 52-21 win

2)Clemson: Clemson is predicted to do well, but I can't see them slowing the wishbone down. GT wins 35-17

3)Miami: Miami is at home but Miami isn't as scary a place to play as it used to be. GT wins 26-14

4)UNC: I think UNC will be good and GT trips up against the Tarholes. UNC 27-24

5)Mississippi State: Mississippi State has much rebuilding to do and GT has too much talent for them. GT has a fun time in Oxford winning 31-10

6)FSU: FSU will be tough in Tallahassee and they will have a slight edge over GT. FSU 28-23

7)Virginia Tech: GT will have much incentive to be up for this game,a possible ACC title game appearance is riding on this. GT 21-16

8)Virginia: GT will be looking for revenge against the Wahoos for the 2008 game and they get it. GT 37-21

9)Vanderbilt: Another SEC opponent for GT and another Win for GT 31-16

10)Wake Forest: Another big game for GT and another win. GT 31-20

11)Duke: Duke is going to be improved(Possibly going bowling),but still not on GT's level. GT 45-28

12)Georgia: The Big Game, this time in BDS. GT whips the Mangy Mutts 34-24:biggthumpup:

What about the flexbone offense that Tech DOES run?

Think they can slow THAT down?

I don't think many can, that's How great a Coach Paul Johnson is! I think GT has the best Wishdone-Flexbone since the late 80s-Early 90's Colorado teams. Sorry for getting the Offense messed up.:o

I'm just kidding around with you. I mean no harm. All fun.

When did Miss State move to Oxford? (think you meant Starkville :-)

I have nearly the exact same prediction through game 8 (UVa).

I have games 9, 10 and 11 much, much closer.

Back on the same page with game 12 - an embarrassing whoopin' with a rolled up newspaper for the Dawgs on National TV.

The good thing is that if so, we face F$U in the ACCCG and CPJ does not lose to the same team twice in a row (absent a colossal talent disparity).

But I do worry about those games 9, 10 and 11. No bye weeks, mental fatigue, non-marquee opponents - it will take Herculean discipline and some very good luck to make it to UGa with one loss.

We will not lose to UNC. I see us going undefeated, but if I had to pick a game that we'll lose, it would be F$U or Ugag.

I can make a good case for us beating every team we play, but I don't think we go undefeated. God does not love me that much.

I was more optimistic prior to Jaybo injury. I like Tevin but he still must grow a lot. I have to see the season this way:

Jax W
Clemson W
Miami W Josh, hurt by now though.
UNC L No Josh.
MSU W, Squeeker though.
FSU L, Josh back but hobbling by now.
VPI TOSSUP, The odds of Josh being 100% healthy at this point are slim. Andrews will take Josh out and since he's already hurting, it might be for a long time. If Josh is in, we win.
Who knows after this.

Three things you can take to the bank:

1. We will beat UNC

2. We will beat VPISU

3. We will beat UVA

I'm not as confident as some about the Miami and FSU games this year. Both will be huge battles. FSU's talent on both sides of the ball is obvious. And I don't think anyone realizes that Miami has only lost 5 in a row to a team one time in their history.

So in short, we really need Miami to lose to FSU in Week 1.

Maybe not, no need to get them desperate for a win when they face us at home. Can't really tell which is better for us, a younger teams mentality is harder to call.

Think this is incorrect, unless you mean in the past 10 years?

A bunch of teams have beaten Miami 5 in row or more. Not sure what Heather was thinking.

Notre Dame beat them 11 straight, Florida 10 straight, Alabama 7 straight, etc. Florida State & VPI are the most recent to beat them 5 straight, both in the 90's.

However, I think it will be the first time they've lost 5 straight ACC games to anyone.

Notre Dame -- 1967-1980 11 in a row
Florida 71-77, 7 in a row
Alabama 62-79,
FSU 95-99, 5 in a row and 63-72, 7 in a row.
VPISU 95-99, 5 in a row.

I wouldn't change much---but if we already have two ACC losses when we play Virginia Tech, we won't beat them. We will have moved into the desparation, must-win mindset, and they will know that handing us a third loss, at Grant Field, gaining the head-to-head tie breaker in the division puts the dagger in our division hopes. Beamer and Foster will bring their A-game no matter what, and we have to be motivated by something other than survival to be successful.
And if we do get our third loss that week, watch the air sssssssssshhhhhhhh rapidly out of our balloon and look for at least two losses down the stretch, for 7-5 overall and a trip out west for the holidays. :ugh:
