Hire a Semi-Pro practice squad?

No way it would be allowed. Saban's army of analysts isn't even allowed to talk to players, no way you could hire a bunch of people to actually play with them.
I think this is right. They'd just pass a rule against it, if there isn't one already. But there must be some grey area because players like kickers do train with pros in the offseason, etc.

Things have definitely changed - I was recruited from intramural hoops to be on the practice squad for men’s hoops. No pay, no scholly, no free meals or any other fringe benefits. Big pass on that.

There are 105 players on the roster. The answer to this is to actually have pro players on your own team like Bama and Georgia.

Why pay players to practice M-F and not play on Saturday when you can just pay players to play on Saturday, too?

Might sound like a good idea right up until some UGA booster slips a semi-pro player a few bills to give a player a season ending injury during practice.
Just have to make sure that we have a designated Bobby Bouche on the sideline ready to unleash the wrath of whoop assery on the poor fool.

How much do you think this would cost and is it allowed/feasible. I know women’s basketball teams do this. Could a football team? It may be money well spent for a team lack ours that continually lacks talent and size depth. Just a thought.
Just when I thought you couldn’t get any stupid-er
