Hive gone down?

Wrong. I got a lifetime ban on the hive for posts similar to those I make here.

What does similar mean? Similar words or the same? Look I don't know why you got banned, but most people Ive seen get banned from there probably deserved it.

I have no beef with either. There are some differences that, depending on your purpose for posting, are either minor or major. i.e. If you want to type the word "ass" in a post, then you'll probably like this place better. If you prefer the nerderium-esque humor, you prefer the Hive. If you just want to waste time at work (like me) then having both available is a God-send.

Heh, I got a lifetime ban for something I did at a football game. And I'm primarily a Gailey supporter.

I posted this before - here's the list of the 6 times I got banned.

Let's see if I can remember them correctly:
1. Saying I hated foreigners. (sometimes sarcasm doesn't sound so sarcastic when it's in writing - to give you the context, someone made a RIDICULOUS post about hating people from other countries and I responded "Great post! I hate foreigners too!!!!")
2. Harassing a mod - CrackerJacket, I believe. That one definitely deserved a ban
3. Harassing another poster for starting a ton of threads on the same topic - turned out he was in high school so I got banned.
4. Made a post that one of the mods thought insinuated that two posters were gay lovers (though that's not what it said)
5. Saying Ed Nelson was going to UConn.
6. Got permanently banned again within hours after I started using a second handle.

So, personal attacks(3,4) and ridiculous sarastic remarks(1) are both things I have done on this board. I definitely posted a well-substantiated rumor(5) when I heard about flunkgate from some guys on the team a couple of days before it was in the AJC. Would've gotten me banned from the hive but not here.

There's no reason for me to harrass a mod(2) or use another handle(6) because the moderators here are more than reasonable with their banning.

I got banned once for talking critically about being stuck in a "gay weekend" at the Renaissance Hotel while up for a football game one year.

If you remember freaknick, think GAY freaknick. Me and my family in the middle of GAY freaknick. And I had to pay for the room.

Anyway, for some reason, similar comments got me banned.

I got banned another time right after 9/11 for comments like "we need to invade damn Afghanistan"...

You PLAY or you get BANNED! Big deal.

It's just an internet message board.

Or you haven't done here what you did there?

just plain not true.

Moderators there defended RB and claimed to be proud to be RB "apologists" then come here and suggest Bennett should have seent he field and gotten playing time. The Hive is PC groupthink. From what I've seen of Stingtalk the last six months, it is the anti-Hive.

For instance, real baseball discussion takes place here and if someone notices Hall has recently made a questionable hire, there will be limited dialogue about the actual topic. on the Hive, you're told to go to Hell and the actual topic is never discussed.

I like both boards from a material point of view for different reasons. I seem to get more information on the Hive but the opinions are usually better on Stingtalk.

The main problem now with the Hive is that whatever new software/web hosting they had to move to is slow and clunky when loading and it's annoying to actual use it.

Slower and clunkier? The old one was pretty clunky itself.

Just funny how there's never a thread on the Hive talking about Stingtalk. Just sayin'.

Because stingtalk doesn't ban so there's nothing to complain about.

They do complain about the other board though even though AFR went there and here and could say/clarify/rescind/deny whatever he wanted as their "guest" without fear of being banned.

So, is this room still available?
