personally, I have no preference. I look for info, so whomever has it at the time, I more than grateful. I've come to realize that all three boards, inspite of their different "personalities," have been valuable sources of Tech news.

In fact, the diversity of fonts on these boards is a plus because if one board is a little slow at a particular time, another might be chock full of interesting reads.

One thing I can't stand, and this tends to happen more on Stingtalk than any other board, is the invariable hijacked thread that turns into a pissing contest. Reference the thread on Dasarte Yarnway for an example. If you want have a verbal "girl fight" with another font about who hated Gailey first, do it somewhere else, please.

This is offtopic and has been discussed several times. Stingtalk is clearly the best for a REAL tech discussion because it is virtually uncensored.

But alas, just like the presidential election, the moderates never win.

Easy, bro. I wouldn't have said that.

My only comment is it happens more here than anywhere else because this is the only place people aren't banned on a daily basis.

not this **** again...

You dislike it, but then you post a thread trying to compare the three? Times like this I wish we did lock threads on stingtalk...

My Take:Hive=Heaven- Everything is is great all the time. We will have 22 all-acc players. Great insight as some have some rock-solid connections, but you have to pay most of the time. Also, there is a clique of posters who do little inside jokes that get annoying on a public message board. Get too real in your criticism and you are gone. Stingtalk=Purgatory- Where those that have been cast away from the Hive and BO...whether it be by self-imposed hiatus or banning. A nice mixture of sunshine and rain showers. Still some great info, and it's free. A format where true opinions can be discussed without being banned for being too negative(Hive) or being too positive(BO).BO=Hell- Where every day is Monday. A large collection of disenchanted "Tech" fans that used to go to bitch about CG, and now continue to toot their own horns and collectively toot the horn of Beebad(probably literally) for getting one right. Supposedly the anti-Hive, but really just a bizzaro-Hive. Instead of being banned for negativity, one is banned for being too positive for the moderator's taste. Only a matter of time before CPJ is put in the crosshairs.

You know what, this thread has enlightened me, because I realized that they don't lock threads here. I mean, it simply never dawned on me before. Stingtalk is wonderful because most everyone is smart to simply let threads like this die.

...he says as he bumps the thread...

Some people really need to take a reading comprehension class or two.

1. I never said I "disliked" any board.

2. I never tried to compare anything.

3. I said there was merit to all three boards. Before the coaching change, I'll admit, I couldn't stomach Buzzoff. But now its not so bad and there is occassionally some new info, like practice reports. The Hive, incidentally, currently has a great discussion of CPJ's lunch bunch and there's not a sniff about it anywhere else.

4. Can anyone truthfully say Stingtalk doesn't have more highjackings and pissing contests? I even gave an example from page 1 of Stingtalk.

5. I actually like Stingtalk. During the coaching change, there was a lot of good inside info and speculation here and not much anywhere else.

Say what?

I know we are relatively new still but what about my forum at http://www.meetthemachine.com?......:hsugh:
I think you're off to a great start. Just need to convince folks to post over there. I think your site has the potential to be the great "olive branch" that unites the fanbase. Come one, come all and discuss GT sports AND get the perspective of past and present players.

The main thing is that you offer something the other sites don't or can't and thats exciting and will bring posters. "Brick by brick my citizens, Rome wasn't built in a day."

Got Milk

We don't lock threads, we make them better.

I'm not even kidding.

I was taking a drink of milk as I loaded this thread

Edit - out of a GT cup, mind you

dressedcheeseside, did it ever occur to you that the guy who hijacked that thread is a regular Buzzoff Poster who has a history of not getting along with anyone who has a varying opinion?
