Like hell.

Rice came to visit in the 70s and only brought white jersies, but we wore white at home back then, so we made them wear our practice jersies.

In 1982, the NCAA changed its jersey rule, requiring teams to wear dark colored jerseys for home games. It changed again in 1995. Now the visiting team has to give the home team permission to wear the white jerseys.

I think the rule had to do with heat issues. Lots of coaches prefer their players to wear white when it's really hot (or so I have been led to believe), so having cooler uniforms is supposed to be a slight advantage. I think the NCAA passed the rule because the home team already has the home field advantage, so they wanted to give some (lesser) advantage to the visitors. I know WF used to make us wear gold at home so they didn't have to wear black. IMO, they should've picked better colors.
 
I thought it had to do with ease when making the visitors travel. Some of the schools with the 5 different uniform combinations wouldn't surprise the visitors when they showed up. The visiting team knew it would be wearing white. It's the same reason the NHL went to road whites. I don't know the NFL does it, nor do I care.

Personally, I think the home whites are a classic look.
 
This doesn't preclude us wearing blue or gold at home every once in awhile, either. I expect to see each one at least once.

The only time we played Rice in the 1970s was 1972 in Atlanta and they wore their blue jerseys. I do recall that when they came to Atlanta in 1961, they had to wear our reserve dark jerseys.
 
But there will be nothing traditional about the uni, will there. Outside of the Gold/White/Gold it will not be a traditional uni it appears.

CPJ is trying to win over the OF and the S/A at the same time.
 
Love it! We're wearing Tech uniforms again! Every time they've come out of the tunnel for the last so many years, I've said to myself, "Why are we wearing those girly-looking unis?" :biggthumpup:

Anybody got any pics? If they haven't released a pic I bet the options are still being debated.
