For those of you at the game this past Sat night like me, they usually pick a ‘Mr’ and ‘Ms’ Ga Tech at halftime. This time two girls were chosen. Did anyone else notice? I don’t ever recall that happening. Ever. Thoughts?

they did away with mr and ms GT last year and replaced it with "Ramblin Royalty". they still have a group of male contestants and a group of female constestants. but they are all lumped in to one pool for voting. last yr the top 2 were a girl and a guy. this yr it was two girls. it could just as easily been two guys.

these are the facts as i know them.

I don’t care. Pick two boys or two girls or two boy-girls, whatever. Just keep winning.

I was confused more than anything. The stadium seemed to agree as the ovation was more subdued than I usually remember.

Yea, we thought that was some sort of different award before the king and queen were crowned. The normal pageantry wasn't there. It was just like when they walk some scholarship awardees out on the field.

Yeah everyone around me was scratching their heads and commenting too like 'did we miss something'?? I guarantee you though if two guys had won it, people would be up in arms lol. I'm there for the football game but it was just a weird juxtaposition.

GT: we need to increase diversity.

So let us award Mr and Mrs GT to two females!

FWIW, there were also more females nominated. It could very well end up that men quit running for it just because females care more about this stuff in the first place.

I don’t see the point of giving 2 awards if they aren’t gendered.

Better idea. Everybody gets an award.

Even better idea. We stop keeping score of the games and every so often the announcer asks the crowd "how are y'all feeling? Are you OK?"

I did go to a small venue in Chattanooga that had a "chill room" so if the music/concert got to intense for you, you could go to the chill room to calm your nerves.

Being a GenX, we just soothed our nerves in a mosh pit.

They should make it so that they award as many contestants as can fit in the rumble seat together. That would at least make it entertaining.

us Gen Xers have enemies from all sides... boomers to the millennials to Gen Z. But we'd beat them all up in a fight. I remember this one time back in 93' when a group of us from Hefner Hall went to the MASQ to see Fugazi. One of the guys got knocked in the head and had to get stitches.. He just put some tape on it and went back into the fray with us. Then he got stitches the next morning at the GT infirmary cause he didn't want to miss an awesome concert.

Yea, it was funny when they made a list of the generations on a news story and had like Boomers, Millennials, and the new Gen Z's and left off GenX. We were like "Good. öööö you"
