Homecoming music act

The utter sh*tiness of most of y'all's music taste is shocking. I didn't realize in order to be a tech fan you had to pretend to be urban though you were a privileged upper middle class white kid or that you had to express your teen angst because your parents didn't pay enough attention to your black fingernails. The rest of the options (sans Black Crowes) are almost too embarassing to even admit knowing of. And just so I don't seem biased Zach Brown Band is easily one of the least talented, watered down frat rock acts bar none. So basically your options without the black crowers are being a posuer, suicide teen, or weak-wannabe southerner.

Zac Brown is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard, and they are one of the best "jam band" (hate that term) there is. Pure talent.

I'd venture to say you're not familiar with many other modern rock guitarists (Derek Trucks maybe?)otherwise you might have a different opinion. I listen to just about anything I can get my hands on and listened to "The Foundation" and was very underwhelmed. I'm not denying his ability to create populist music that appeals to a wide group of people...but so does a toyota camry and its as interesting as this music.

yes he played in athens a bunch, but hell lets face it, there are more country music fans in athens than at tech. he has played at a bunch of schools in georgia (kennesaw and w. ga to name a few).

maybe you are thinking of corey smith? that guy is a flaming mutt, but i dont really hate him. it makes me shiver when he brings up ugag in a song, but he's a good dude.

there are TONS of country songs that mention ugag. many have become big time hits. face it, country is bigger at that school than at ours.

zbb is amazing in concert by the way. i saw them at wild bills last year and it was one of the best shows ive ever been to, and ive been to around 50 shows in my 23 years. they sound as good live as they do on the radio.

He's right though. That's great that all of you like that stuff, seriously. But the taste in music just isn't there. If that's elitist, or whatever, meh. Sorry.
Watered down frat rock is the perfect description for ZBB.

you might want to check out warren haynes, jimmy herring, trey anastasio before you make the claim for zac brown.
i wouldn't even consider them a "jam band". they're playing them on the country station in town. they're somewhat selling out as far as i'm concerned.
