Honest and open question to all fans

Better question: Is it reasonable to post the same question 8 or 9 times per week?

Hehe.

Even better question: Isn't there someplace we can all just type our answers once, then cut/paste them into the newer version of the same thread every time it comes up?

Chan's future shouldn't hinge on one game under most circumstances. However, this season is shaping up so that it does appear that his future will hinge on the UGa game.

So be it.
Nope. His 6 years of stagnation, boring football, has sealed it- no matter what happens in the last 2. It will be great again to anticipate going to a GT football game and the excitement ahead of that day's game, and during the game. A better product on the field, more excitement is definitely needed- more than ANYTHING

Yeah, you're just wrong about that. If he closes with 8 wins regular season this season, and a win over UGA, following a 9 win regular season and an ACCCG appearance, then he will have clearly shown progress, not stagnation.

There's no other way to look at that. And we can't fire a guy that's progressing, particularly if we can't use the "consecutive losses to our rival" excuse.

Nope, if he wins the next 2, he is not only safe, he's nigh unfirable.

So ask yourself this question, PreventOffense:

Say we beat up UNC, and in the last 2 minutes of the UGA game we look like we're about beat them too. And you know if we beat UGA, then Chan stays. Who are you going to root for, PreventOffense?

I'm curious.

Is it reasonable to accept another loss at UGA without a coaching change? 7 years of misery (6 under Chan) would simply be too much to bear and frankly, unacceptable. If we don't think this is an important game anymore, let's bury the hatchet and drop them from our schedule. If people think that we are just too much at a disadvantage given academics, fan base, etc., then why play D-1 ball at all? I'm really tired of all the excuses. If we succumb to accepting these excuses as true impediments, then we are suckers for being fans since we will never achieve another MNC, ACC title or win over UGA. If we can't play to win it all, then what are we looking forward to? Just the entertainment value?

If the tables were turned, UGA would have fired its coach a long time ago.

We need a head coaching change now. Period!!

At this point, I just want to see what it's like to compete against a better opponent. The losses to BC and VT on national tv and with so many expectations really hurt.

I would imagine most people want to see Gailey gone if GT loses to Ugag again. But, I don't know how DRad gets out of this deal considering the money they owe Gailey. Any chance they can use that clause in his contract about not fulfilling his duties? It was talked about in the AJC article today.

Maybe we could have Gailey fired for sexual harrassment. I'm pretty sure he has f***** us.

I always root for GT no matter what. And I seem to always fall asleep at our games for the last 2 years. Go read "Great Moments in GT Football" the section regarding the Miracle on the Flats. I was a senior that year, remember it like it was yesterday- the Team bus turning the corner coming down Techwood to the bonfire at BDW. I reread it to my son 2 nights ago- It has quotes from Mooney, Lavin, etc. It chronicled the first 3 years of Ross very well- and yes it was a miracle but it did happen. And the one thing that stands out is the excitement, the excitement under O'Leary/Friedgen a few years later, going into a game with excitement. Im sorry but this whole deal now is pitifully boring. Im not saying we need to go out and win a national champ. Im not going to compare the ACC now and then, or schedules etc. All Im talking about is excitement and energy for the program. If by divine intervention we beat UGA, great! It would be a good day. It wouldnt do squat for the boringa.. football played game in and game out. Even if we didnt win anymore than we are now, i believe we can bring energy, offense, excitement, back to the campus, to the stadium, and it is definitely a morgue down there right now. I could hear a pin drop in the VA Tech game! I talked to 2 GT Football Hall of Famers on a regular basis- and they really couldnt care at this point because Gailey has sucked the life out of the program.

My prediction was 7-5. The average on here was about 9.5-2.5. The buck stops with the HC.

Oh, I forgot... if we beat Georgia, my prediction would be we would win 10-7 and Tenuta deserves the HC job at that point...

Either beat Georgia or be gone

Dumb question! Do Alabama fans think it is reasonable to lose to Auburn? Do Florida fans think it is reasonable to lose to FSU? the sad thing is we are the only school listed thats coach would still be around after losing 5 straight!

If anyone thinks it is not that important of a game is not a true fan.

I don't consider the UGA game just some game. It is THE GAME!

Did you guys see the Michigan-Ohio State special on HBO? In it they talked about Cooper going into OSU and making a comment that THE game was just another game. They said that right then his days were numbered. In college you have to understand the rivalry game at whatever school you're at and you have to focus on it.
