In "your" opinion, how high is the heat turned up on Gailey "if" the team doesn't improve it's performances and finishes 4-8 or 5-7?

What is your response:

A. We're on the five year plan, and there is plenty of time for improvement
B. Let's get to a bowl by year three
C. Gotta see some improvement in year two
D. 4-8? That's an embarrasment that can't be allowed to continue
E. What's United Van Lines phone number?

Just curious what the pulse of this place is. 4-3 is no need to panic I suppose, but there are things I am seeing that I don't like out of this coaching staff, so I just wanted to see what you folks are thinking right now.

D. If we don't win AT LEAST 2 more games then Gailey should be fired. There is no way this team should end up with a losing record considering the talent and experience available, no matter how many injuries we've had.

Prediction: 1 possible win - Duke

Not time to panic but time for influential alum and all fans to contact DBraine or even higher and tell him to seriously give thought to next move.

All coaches should have time...
I feel that although we've had multiple injuries the problems have not directly come from the lack of depth.
Thursdays team came out flat on offense...
My biggest concern's
1) with half the season gone I'm unable to figure out what the offenses personality is...
2)I don't have faith that they are able to come from behind and win ...
3) Some will feel that this is 'blasphemous' but I see such slow improvements in our QB's that I'm beginning to wonder about either of them...
All that said... Gailey should et another year...
but we should be going to a bowl THIS YEAR... The team has loads of talent that is being wasted this year and that will harm recruiting... but that's another post altogether...

GO JACKETS!!!

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">My answer, which will be highly unpopular, is "A". I'm an OF and I've seen worse than this.
Besides, demanding instant gratification is...well, it isn't the attitude of thoughtful people.
We got our butts whipped in the second half last night, VERY disappointing since we had such a good first half. But we are way too determined to believe that we were right before the season in our belief that we had plenty of great players and plenty of depth. We don't. We miss an experienced QB, we have been hurt by injuries, and we lost 5 games last year anyway. We are middle of the pack, and would be if Jesus were the coach.

And for all who are so eager to say,"I told you so!", Good For You. You told us so. Go have some champagne and enjoy Tech's bad times as you seem so determined to do.

I think the heat is at the lowest possible setting. Yes, we have talent. But we also lost a TON of talent in Godsey. I think this year all comes down to the QB loss.

Gailey has had success at EVERY level he has coached at. Why should we be the exception? This first year he has had more bad luck than I can think of. But I think that if you give him time to install his system with his players we will see a winner here. You can't expect instant results. It's just not realistic.

I'm certainly not in the "I told you so" crowd. Though I honestly knew little about his personality, etc, I did feel his experience and resume would lead to a team that looked more prepared to play than his team has shown thus far. I am disappointed we don't look better coached than we do.

"E"....pack him up now...we have yet to hit rock bottom...it's gonna get worse. I think Chan has totally lost control of the team.

I'll take what's behind curtain number one...oops, I meant choice A.

Ok folks listen up. New staff+new qb+new rb+key injuries to impact players on both sides of the ball = a mediocre season, at best, IMHO. And we all know mediocre for GT isn't pretty. Time for some of you to reset your expectations. Maybe some of you went out on a limb during the preseason and started talking smack with our neighbors from Athens. Well, time to take your medicine.

Some of you calling for CG's head are probably the same ones who thought PH should be let go a year into his campaign. We see where hoops is headed, so let's give Braine some credit and CG a chance.

THWG!!

Sorry Sports --

Ain't buying it at this point - theres a LOT more going on than a few losses - theres no sugarcoating it at this point

GoldRush,

I don't believe I was sugarcoating anything. We're in a heap of trouble right now. Our kids have lost confidence in the staff and now themselves (IMHO), and the schedule only gets tougher.

It's time to give DeBo ALL of the reps this week. Shot in the arm that the team was looking for all night last night.

It's time to pull together, b/c that's pretty much all that's left.

THWG!!

I vote for D. I think Braine should order Coach DULL to hire a first rate staff and then see if he can pull us out of this nose dive. Braine should reevaluate him at the conclusion of his second year and then take appropriate action if there are no tangible improvements.

I'm not fond of the five year plan at all although that is realistic. I'm more on the bubble of seeing improvement in year two. I still feel that "wasting" this year while "the fantastic hire" staggers about trying to find his bearings is awfully disgraceful but the ACC is in pretty decent shape this year and the dawggies are having a good year so our prospects look none too good right now. We can probably trick Virginia and Duke. Anything else would be a treat.

E - run his butt and the majority of the staff out of town. Sorry guys five years is bullcrap! WAY TOO MUCH TALENT LEFT ON THIS TEAM TO HAVE THIS POOR OF A SHOWING. Two games in a row we have seen coaching staffs that actually have a clue make adjustments that crush Tech in the second half while our staff continues with the same old same old. Sorry - no passion from the coaches equals no passion from the kids.

I am done for this season. Time to listen on the radio while something more productive is done.

After my self imposed exile I have decided to give the board another try.

I after watching the last 2 game I have decided that major changes need to be made. I of course don't profess to be a coach but there is something badly wrong with the team. Is it CG or BOB or whomever I don't know know but I'll be damned if I want to wait 4 or 5 years to find that we are 1 and 11 or 2 and 9 or something like that to determine that DB needs to make a change. We don't need another Bull S--- L history at the flats. Make the changes now and just get it over with. If Cg is not the man then changes must be made period so let just get on with the program.

My biggest problem with watching the game last night was the apathy on both the coaches and the players' part. You could see that we had already lost the game in the 3rd quarter after they made it 20. NO ONE CARED ANYMORE. Even at the beginning of the game, our guys didn't even look like they wanted to be there. They looked like they were just going through the motions of playing football. I can understand losing, but at least don't look like you don't care if you lose. Where is the fire on the team?

I was out of the country last year, so I didn't get to see many games. Was this same apathetic attitude present on the field last year, too? If so, I gotta attribute that to BOB. We had that attitude when the Fridge was here, and it seemed to vanish when he left.

It is embarrassing to those who EXPECTED a big year.Just disappointing to others.
My take is that I thought the Off would struggle with no QB and no proven TB and no Off line depth.
(of course that has been a non-factor as the Off hasn't been on the field long enough to get tired and luckily uninjured).
The Def had a CHANCE to be very good. That chance went away with the Gathers loss. You don't lose an all-time best and just replace him on a team that has not been recruiting Def linemen for years.

Ah, the coaching. Hollings gave a free pass for a while but the truth has come out.BOB can't coach or develop QBs.QBs are the HEART of a team. They control the Off and hearten the Def.Tenuta has been different, not better really. The SP teams coach? has been a bust.NO part of the sp teams play has been better than last year with no special coach(although the fake punt was inspired.Unfortunately it doesn't offset the TD punt return by Clemson).
The answer ,get rid of certain staff now. There is enough talent that we will be having this discussion next year AGAIN as we will probably muddle through AGAIN.Make no mistake we heading for a deep abyss in 2 yrs under any situation especially if the this coaching continues to drag.

"C". Must improve drastically in the second year. We have the best material at GT since the early fifties. Our losing is not for the lack of talent. It just is not true.

A number of us are,as I am, self-employed;many of us are partners, members of a professional group, etc. Are there any whose compensation could stand a five year plan without significant progress every year?? Would your stockholders, partners, customers stand for it? The coaching staff has all the resources they need to be successful(young Clinkscales showed that we evidently have a lot of unrecognized/underutilized talent on hand); Let's hold them accountable!!
