Hope all you Jaybo fans are happy .....

He was moving the ball until the cut block and the holding call. The fumble was pretty bad, but the game changer was muffing a fair catch punt. I don't know where Roddy's head was today, but he did not play well except for a couple of runs. Two muffed punts (one lost) and major hesitation on several plays where if he had made a good block JD could have broken a bigger run.

The only real problem I remember with Jaybo was the fumble. He did alright other than that.

He has no pocket presence. Not that the line was doing him any favors but either throw the ball away or tuck and run. He has looked SCARED the last two games.

I agree with this. He will get better though, he's only a frosh.

My only problem is with the people at the games that yell, scream and insult Josh Nesbitt when a play doesn't get a first down and scream for Jaybo like he's the messiah.

He has zero pocket awareness. He never looks to his blindside and stays in the pocket, only to get crushed. On the other hand, Josh Nesbitt is always moving and knows to throw it away when someone is pursuing.

In my opinion, this is a learned trait since the UVA game.

Jaybo needs to hit the weights. I would suspect his small hands and small frame were responsible for the 2 fumbles-- Nesbitt would not have had these turnovers. Also, Nesbitt has better pocket presence, coming from a HS offense that threw, as has been mentioned. The knock on Josh, IMO, is that he has to get over what I believe is this EGO thing where he thinks he has to do it all himself and not pitch it to the A-back. I was thinking for a minute that he was insecure on his ability to pitch, but really I think he thinks he has to make 'the play' every play.

I've thought silently for awhile that UNC had the most intimidating looking defense in the ACC. Their front 7 is nasty.

I haven't been to any of the games (unfortunately :o) but if what you say is true, we have some ridiculously naive fans and I can only assume they have no idea what they are talking about... or they went to the same high school as Jaybo.

Yea, I've noticed that with Jaybo. If it's a pass play, he gets the ball, drops back and only looks to his right side. I've never ever seen him turn his head to the left. Anyone remember his pass TD to BayBay against MSU? He was being hit on his blindside while throwing it, if it wasn't for Demaryius, it probably would have been picked off.

Anyway... I think both Josh and Jaybo did the best that they could do. Not taking any credit away from UNC's defense (especially that line and their linebackers) but common denominator was our o-line and they just weren't giving these guys time.

We had a guy in our section at the Gardner Webb game that was very clearly not from around here and had no idea how to act at a college sporting event but was fully prepared to assume otherwise. He yelled and screamed and was furious that Jaybo wasn't in the game. Nesbitt was out if I recall correctly, but he still continued to yell about Nesbitt being terrible. Two guys from our area had enough and told him to shut up.

They asked who he wanted in the game and he said Jaybo, whom they informed him was not even dressed. He didn't care. They confronted him and one of his friends actually put a hand on one of the guys and things looked like they may get ugly. The GBI stepped in and took the idiot out of the area as he yelled "You know NOTHING about Georgia Tech football, do you hear me!?" What's worse is he didn't appear to be drunk.

As some people were beginning to leave the Virginia game in the 4th quarter, someone coming down the stairs yelled "F*CK YOU NESBITT!" and they would have been in a heap of trouble if any of us could have figured out who said it.

I just don't understand it. Not at all.

Ruff day for Tech much less Jaybo. You have to give UNC some credit. They're not Gardner-Webb. These people are capable of stomping a pretty good sized mudd puddle in a lot of folk's azzes once they get cranked up. We were lucky to hold on as well as we did not to mention the field goal, drive killer boo-boos.

Coach Johnson needs to turn up the heat if we're going to finish with wins over Miama and the mutts. The Dwyer over Voss's tail is starting to get my attention. JUST WEAR IT OUT. Nice coupla plays to BeBe. A-Backs over the middle might work, Coach Wonski. Who's in charge of basic common sense?

I hate it we lost but I would not have bet on us in this game. I'm happy we didn't get murdered. I'm VERY happy we're doing so well in a difficult transition year.

I will be be KNUTTS, I SAY KNUTTS BOY, when we beat the dawgs.

God bless Georgia Tech.

Jaybo didnt play that bad. Yes he did fumble. But the d line was in his face as soon as he snaped the ball. But you can really blame the o line as 80% of them were backups.

unfortunately I missed the game, why did Jaybo play? did nesbitt get injured?

Jaybo was put in just to see if it could spark something out of the offense.

Josh is/was injured (limping near the end of the game) but don't think this was the reason Jaybo was put in.

Bringing in Jaybo was a good change of pace and it worked for a bit. Nesbitt looked skert to make the pitch on the option and he was limping and throwing the ball backing up. Lots of bad signs. Jaybo didn't take care of the ball on the fumble but otherwise it wasn't him that screwed up.

Remember how Reggie went downhill after he got hurt?

No quarterback would have been successful today...the blocking was awful. If you can't block...you can't win.

Defense played well, and it wasn't as bad as the score indicated. Look at the start positions of their last 3 TDs:

1: Roddy Jones Fumble - 20 yd line
2: Jaybo Fumble - 25 yd line
3: Onside Kick - 40 yd line

With that UNC had 6 points as a given. I can't blame the defense for being gassed after the punt return fumble, nor just a little while later after the 2nd fumble. They just ran the ball hard 2nd half when it was clear we were both tired and lost the momentum.

I don't know where this anti-Jaybo movement is coming from, but we should really be pleased with having a backup quarterback who can step up and make plays.

Is he as good as Nesbitt? No. And that is why he is 2nd string.
