Hope Scholarship and Athletes

Yeah, im gonna call BS on that
I worked at the AA while in grad school and did use their meals facilities, but if regular students had just come walking in im pretty sure they would be asked to leave

Edit:
Eating together, socializing with your friends, meeting for an evening snack...all of this comes with your Freshman Meal Plan. Meal plans at Georgia Tech allow you access to Brittain, West Village, and North Avenue Community Restaurants on East and West campuses. These restaurants offer varied menus including made-to-order salads, sandwiches, homemade pasta, omelets, and more.

You will also find the best pizza in town, vegetarian choices, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, ice cream, and more. Additionally, students can use their meal plan at Buzz-Buy to catch a quick lunch to go and at dinner in the Student Center Food Court.

No mention of edge center
This link says all three and when you look at dining locations, the three listed are Britain, woodruff and edge. Regardless, I did this 2008-2009 it easily could have changed.

Those are the same prices listed for Britain, btw.

There is a separate meal plan that includes Edge for S/A that are not on scholarship. They have to have that meal plan to eat there. I don't believe RAS are eating at the Stadium. But who knows as screwed up as the NCAA rules are. The same folks who decided freshmen girls were safer living across the hall from the football team instead of having athletic dorms...

Wow! All this about HOPE and somehow the subject winds about freshmen girls. Just another day on ST....

It was a comment about the dorms at UGA, I don't think GT has any issues in the dorms like that... Just a example of the stupid NCAA rules. Back to HOPE, college is more expensive with it than to was before it started. Even when you factor in inflation. Just another example of govt waste.

And any student can buy this meal plan if they want to (otherwise it would be an NCAA violation for special treatment of athletes). But no one actually buys the EDGE meal plan because it is more expensive.

Plus its the same shitty food.

Technically speaking, all students have access with their dining plan. Most just don't know it.

Plus its the same ööööty food.

We used to wear our rowing jackets and walk in like we were supposed to be there - it was fun eating with all the scholly athletes. And definitely not the same shitty food, they would have some baller lunches and more selection. Pretty sure they had vitamins and protein bars/snacks for the taking as well. It's not really advertised that well to non-scholly athletes so people don't seem to know they can go there. Can't remember anymore if we slipped in under the normal meal plan or if we got charged $.

I guess compared to fake eggs, anything is a improvement... GT is WAY BEHIND other schools we play when it comes to the " Training Table". Im guessing along with getting UA , nutrition will be on the list of improvements w the new AD... But what do I know... I do spend a butt load of money on food and nutritional products w a son on a full scholarship... You cannot get the nutrition needed eating what the GT foodservice offers...

It ain't just the NCAA that causes those problems. Once upon a time all students lived single sex. Less rape -- less sex, FTM -- then.

That's really sad. I hope the new AD makes that a priority.
