He’s coached under some of the best. GT could tell him to also be grooming his replacement if O’Brien jumps back to the NFL.
Bill O'Brien would certainly be much better than the head coach we have now. He was a Grad Assistant at Tech from 1995-1997. He then became Tech's Running Back's coach in '98 and held that position until 2000. From 2001 to 2002, he was Tech's Offensive Coordinator (and Quarterbacks coach). Unfortunately, our offenses during that time were average. Too bad he didn't incorporate Ralph Friedgen's offensive playbook, which irked me at the time. As a player, at Brown University, O'Brien played defensive back and linebacker. This may explain why his offensives were mediocre. He’s coached under some of the best. Delusional. ööööing delusional. "I think we could get a better coach that has a proven track record." Really? What evidence do you have for that? If that is true, then in December 2018 why didn't we "get a better coach that has a proven track record? Dude, they weren't beating down our door.Bill O'Brien would certainly be much better than the head coach we have now. He was a Grad Assistant at Tech from 1995-1997. As a head coach, he was 15-9 during two seasons at Penn State. In 2012 the Nitany Lions went 8-4 and 7-5 in 2013. He was hired as PSU's head coach right after the horrible Sandusky scandal and fallout. Therefore, he has experience inheriting a program in complete disarray. That would be a plus for considering him for the Tech position. As an NFL head coach with the Texans his record was 52-48. He went 0-4 to start the 2020 season and was fired.
In my opinion, O'Brien is an average coach, but capable. I think we could get a better coach that has a proven track record. Nevertheless, Bill O'Brien has a history with Tech and has experience leading a program through a difficult time. But our AD needs to be relieved of his duties soon so that the head coaching search can begin. We have good players now! That's one thing Collins did for us. We just need a capable coach to lead them to a winning season in 2022 and beyond.
GO JACKETS!
Well, looking at this Alabama offense today is probably why not.Why not

May I suggest a brief hiatus from posting alternative individuals as potential candidates to replace Geoff Collins because the candidates you endorse pretty much suck. He’s coached under some of the best. GT could tell him to also be grooming his replacement if O’Brien jumps back to the NFL.
As a Houston Texans fan, I’d say he’s not a bad coach. Absolutely horrendous as a GM - his arrogance was his downfall. Definitely can see that in his coaching, but CPJ was pretty arrogant as well. He’s coached under some of the best. No, i bet Saban would drive him over to AtlantaHe’s coached under some of the best. GT could tell him to also be grooming his replacement if O’Brien jumps back to the NFL.
dumbI hate to say it as I like a Tech guy at the helm,
But they are all all hands down better than Collins so….May I suggest a brief hiatus from posting alternative individuals as potential candidates to replace Geoff Collins because the candidates you endorse pretty much suck.
