start taylor?

After this last loss and his performance throughout the year...are any of you telling me you think Josh couldn't do better than 0TDs and 4 INTs like last game?

Does anyone think after 9 games...Josh wouldn't have more than 2 TDs passing?

How can we continue to start TB at this point?

Play for the future...play josh.

I am totally in favor of starting Nesbitt against Duke and letting him throw the ball.

I still think Josh will never be our quarterback at Tech. He wasn't recruited at QB by every other school for a very good reason. He cannot pass the ball. We chased out best options for QB this year in Garner and Threet.

I thought it was 5 INTs.

:)

Yeah, I'm with you. Nesbitt couldn't be any worse. Might as well play him.

edit: Garner? That guy was a deer in the headlights even when he was in the game to hand off the ball.

What the hell has happened to Calvin Booker? I thought he was supposed to be a stud of a transfer. If Nesbitt isn't ready, give Book some snaps.

That's what I'd think would be a better option at this point. Booker is #2, after all.

I don't know one person who has ever said booker was a stud of a transfer other than those homers on the hive insiders board....but if you listen to them...we should have had 30 all americans the last 2 years.

Nesbitt is now too mentally scarred to attempt anymore passes after that dropped ball. He is now taking up badminton.

I would NOT call that a dropped pass. I would call it a pathetically thrown pass. He threw it 5 yeards too far and over the wrong shoulder and no defenseive player was within 15 yeards. He made Reggie look great on that throw.

Persaonlly, I don't think we have a decent QB on the team right now but I'm guessing coahcing has a lot to do with that. A new coach with a new offense and TB will be 2nd team all-ACC next year.

On Nesbitt's first run last night he bobbled the ball before he got hit and almost fumbled when he got hit. do you remember ND's starting QB vs us? That's what Nesbitt would have looked like last night if he had played more.

Ou offense is just bad and most of that I hope is Gailey's fault. Perhaps in the right system, Nesbitt can flourish. Right now, he's shown how to make bad throws, good runs, and fumble a lot.

its hard to take a cold QB and ask him to make a throw on request and it be accurate.

secondly...you can't interpolate how he would be today with alot more game play...you just can't use the 5 minutes he plays a game and say...see that is how he would be....

He was WIDE OPEN. *I* could have completed that pass DRUNK AND STONED.

Not saying we shouldn't start him. I'm all for starting him. Just saying, you can't blame that pass on being 'cold.'

Don't start rationalizing for a piss poor throw. He is a much worse thrower as far as accuracy than RB right now. If we're going to call Gailey what he is then let's call the pass what it was. Is it too much to ask him to throw it over the correct shoulder?

you are talking about one instance...JJ slowed down a little in that route...re-watch it...secondly poorly adjusted...even the announcers...one blamed nesbitt the other blamed JJ. But i do agree with you he should have made sure he got it there rather than make the perfect throw.

Either way, my point about being cold isn't THAT pass play...its the whole body of work...over all games...its tough to judge a guy's passing ability when he is cold.

Its not about that one throw...its about all year and my point is you can't say josh wouldn't be a decent passer today if he played alot more...based on the little we have seen today.

I'm not for putting Nesbitt in...yet. I'd rather see Booker get a shot. But can someone explain these posts about Nesbitt not being able to pass, please?

The kid completed 60% of his passes as a senior in high school and over his last two seasons threw for 5,089 and 63 TDs, while throwing only 13 interceptions. Hell, that's more than 3 times as many yards and twice the TDs he accounted for on the ground.

Agreed, I watched him in practice all summer...he has a cannon of an arm but rushes a little and accuracy isn't there at that point.

But you let the guy play, and play alot and much of those freshman type errors (accuracy included) will get worked out.

That play was Johnson's fault, not Nesbitt's. As a wideout you have to know how to adjust to the ball and not slow down.

How do you explain that it hit his hands even after he slowed down? Should've made the catch. End of story.

i agree with that but with this offense that would make Brady look average, i think it's best for his confidence to sit the bench and wait for a real offensive gameplan that can utilize his strengths.

This is a direct result of running off Garner and Threatt. We are reaping what Chan has sown.

Booker should start and play the 1s quarter against Duke and Nesbitt should get the 2nd quarter. Put Bennett in as cleanup.
