How did South Carolina do it?

SC beats us once every 5 or 6 years. They were due. If that's not enough for you, they had experience at key positions on defense versus our OL that consists of freshmen and sophomores.

No biggie. We'll start another 4 or 5 year run on them in 08, regardless of the A-hole in the visor. I can promise you, at SC he'll lose to UGA more than he beats us.

ummm.....since joining the sec SC has beaten you 5 times in the past 15 years or once every 3 years. By the way, that is 1 more time than they have beaten Clemson during this period of time.

I doubt that.

Just my 2 worthless cents, but "click clack" is down 1-2 to UGA since his return to college football, so when does your "doubt" come into play? 2 years from now, 3, maybe 4?

I realize that GT fans are also UF fans and Spurrier fans, but Spurrier is outmatched at South Carolina and he knows it. But how often is logic used on message boards?

I like Spurrier. He talks a lot and he used to have teams that could back it up. Now he just talks, but it's still funny. I loved his backhanded comments towards Vandy and then Vandy comes to his place and beats him.

Click clack.

They beat us in 93, 96, 00, 01, and 07. On average, yes, that is 33% of the time since they joined the SEC in 1992.

Sorry that I let the recent 6 year stretch of wins cloud my judgement about the record versus them over the last 15 years.

Regardless, my overall point is the same. I am in NO WAY worried that Spurrier will enjoy the same success against UGA that he enjoyed while coaching UF through the 90s.

And beating them at a 2:1 clip is still pretty solid:biggthumpup:

By the way, Spurrier won't be at SC much longer. At the most 5 more years; more than likely less. He doesn't stick around for very long when there's nothing he can do about losing.

Like I said, I would like him to stay in Columbia for a little while, though. With the talent we are compiling in Athens I can wait for UGA to hang 40+ on him.

I have no love for Spurrier, SC or UGA either, but I do like Mark Richt even if he is the "enemy." Having said that, I have to agree with the dogs. Georgia gets much better talent and may even have better coaching. Unless Spurrier develops a continuous pipeline of talent from the state of Florida, UGA will be the overall winner of that series IMO.

Not at 1-2 when the first of the 2 was 17-15 in Athens. Don't concern yourself with my 'doubt'. You UGA fans certainly get touchy when the subject of Spurrier (apparently aka/ 'click-clack') pops up.

Because UGAy is, for all intents and purposes, Spurrier's bitch. IIRC, he only lost to them once when he coached the Gators.

They did it by catching an inexperienced team at a bad time........the beginning of the season. Brown wasn't able to run due to still not being 100 % back from ACL surgery. Moreno wasn't played much due to his inexperience. Stafford threw the ball 45 times due to the running game not jelling as it did the week before against Ok. State. You throw the ball 45 times in the SEC, and you are gonna lose. Defensively, UGA was also inexperienced. No clear-cut starters at LB, the secondary was having problems with the "read and react" defensive game plan, and there were 3 people on the d-line that had had their first starts the week before. If they play today, UGA destroys So. Carolina. The Tennessee game? UGA didnt show up on offense, defense, special teams, or anywhere else except that they did show up on the sideline.

Only time will end that sentiment and it's more likely that sentiment will end than continue. I realize that thousands of GT fans are spurrier and gator fans, but some take the vicarious life to a funny level.
