How do you like our chances against UGA now?

Demjackets, do you think Coach PJ and the staff...

have already starting scouting Georgia? On the one hand, I hope they have studied Georgia and can come up with everything they can on both sides of the ball to attack. On the other hand, we haven't had a game since Jax State we didn't need to prepare hard for.

Beej, how and when did the budweiser song get started?

It starts at the beginning of the break between the third and fourth quarters, I think with the trombones.

I would like our chances a lot better if A. J. Green was sidelined. We're really going to have to get a rush on Stafford.

I'm not worried about AJ Green or the passing game that much. Stafford is going to throw for around 250 yards whether they win or lose, its been like that every game this year. The key to stopping UGay is stopping the run. If we can put them in obvious passing situations then we will dominate their young line when our D-line can pin their ears back against the immobile Stafford.

However, if Knowshown gets going (like Peerman did) and bust 100 yards we are in trouble. It will open up the play action pass and we are not good enough at corner and linebacker to play the pass and run on short yardage 2nd and 3rd downs (Uva exposed that).

UGAG will be the best passing team we will face this year. If we don't learn to cut off the slants, drags and screens, they will walk up and down the field on us.

They have been vulnerable to very good rushing teams this fall. LSU (188/4.6 ypc) and Florida (185/5.8 ypc) both put up big numbers on them on the ground.

I'd think it will be a good game, but it could get ugly if their WR's get loose. Chances of beating them are less than 25% in Athens, and with incompetent ACC refs.

What has UGA done this season to make everyone think they are so good? Just because they started the season ranked so high everyone has it in there head that they are a better football team then we are. I for one am not drinking the UGA Kool-Aid. They have done nothing to prove to me they are that great of a football team. Who have they beat? and don't give me LSU because they are probably the most overrated team in the country. UGA reminds me of that Miami team we beat in Miami when they where ranked in the top 10 that year. They looked great on paper, but where not a top 10 team and IMO neither is UGA. I for one will be more surprised if we lose, then win.

I disagree. They have all the tools. Exceptional college QB. Exceptional running back. Exceptional wide receivers. Size and speed on defense. They are better than anyone we have played so far (or will play).

Only one way to win that game and that is exceptional coaching combined with exceptional execution. It can be done. Only exception is if Georgie's coaches don't bring their A game.

I believe that we HAVE to run the ball successfully and eat up a lot of clock. We will have to make more good reads and almost no turnovers.

Yeah, I'd say if we don't run the ball successfully we are pretty screwed.

But...that Florida game was closer than the score made it look. I mean, if you took the second half of the Bama game, mixed it with some cherry Kool-aid, and then did a few shots of Four Horseman, then you can't read the scoreboard anymore so you can just assume DAWG NATION WINS! They have a player who JUMPED OVER A MAN! HEISMAN!
I was at the game in Jacksonville, gators did not have a block party just the usual bulldog beatdown. On the contrary, the statistics are misleading. It could have been worse. Florida was in control because they took Moreno out of the equation. Very impressed with Stafford. Georgia loves deep slants and unlike in past years the receivers do not drop balls. Georgia's lines are not great and that is why the elite teams hammer them.

UwhiNe&Cheese first.

Anyone remember the week before uvag?

Last weekend has nothing to do with our chances against ugag.

Hate to burst everyone's bubble, but if you don't think people were saying how bad the seniors wanted it(and I'm sure they did) last year, you are fooling yourselves. We have heard all this rhetoric before. Maybe Chan didn't take the game as seriously as he should have, and he probably didn't have them prepared like they should have been, but you better believe they were all fired up as hell.

I think we have a quarterback and a coach now who DO believe that losing two days after Turkey Day is a speed bump.

The difference is the players confidence in our coach and his confidence in them, they are confident we can win this year, instead of hoping we get lucky. Its contagious, he knows how much we need to win this game and will instill it in the team and have them more then ready. There's no little brother to UGA feeling around here anymore.

Thanks Dem. Hopefully the inferiority complex will end with the fans as well. No more of the "we will be your boss" crap. Two teams competing on the field, neither of which is superior than the other.

I feel 1974 happening all over again. New coach. Option offense. Winning first season. Chances are 70-30 we win. But, if you wake up on the last Saturday in November, with the coldest rain you've ever seen poring down, the chance moves to 100%, Tech 34, Dawgs 14.

Well first off, UGAG is not a top 10 team right now, even in the polls, FWIW. Second, they have a very dangerous passing game, and a solid rushing game with Moreno. It all hinges on the OL/DL matchup they get, and if Stafford has his head on straight on a given day. When he's had problems is when he's not had time.

I think this is our best advantage going - our DL against their OL. We should be able to rush Staffy successfully. HOWEVER, we will have ACC refs, and we all know how they HATE to toss flags for holding. If Richt is smart, he'll have Staffy use a lot of 3 step drops and slants to Massaquoi and Green, and drag routes to his TE/FB. We're simply going to have to cover those routes better.

On D they are most vulnerable through the air, but we don't pass so much, so that negates that one. They are good on the run, but they also pursue very fast to the ball. If they don't learn differently, we could put up some big rushing numbers on them. You can bet that Richt and Bowden will have talked a lot before our game.

We have a solid chance to win this one.

We will move the ball against them. They aren't very good defending the option. The key will be getting touchdowns, not field goals. That being said, I think we'll march up and down the field on offense. They will be calling for Willie Martinez's head. Hold on to the ball Jackets!

On defense, they will move the ball on us. They run block better than they pass block. Watching them is strange. They have Knowshon -- probably the best back they've had in ten years -- and they abandon the run so fast. I like the Bama and Florida plan. Make Stafford beat us. Stop the run.

Prediction: GT 27 UGA 23

We've had the lead the LAST THREE YEARS and blown it EVERY DANG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CPJ will get us there this year!

Mutts are down emotionally and we're up.

the recipe for success has been concocted(sp?). We just need to cook their ass.

Right now, the mutts are down. But we're hurting. If we get healthy for the UGA game, I like our chances. I think it will be similar to FSU. We should be able to run on them, and we really need our guys to stop the run, take away Corky Thatcher's time to throw the ball.

It is way too early to predict this game.
