I remember how excited I was that he signed with Tech--a can't miss recruit who DID. Never came close to his hype before fading away after his frosh season. One of the highest ranked recruits EVER for Tech--which is WHY i never get excited ANYMORE about highly ranked-hyped recruits now. Really glad CD found a good niche in life and is doing well--but-- he is a prime example of TOO much hype and pressure placed on high school players.

If I am correct I believe his greatested acheivement was a victory againsr Southern Cal. in 69'.

I think you are correct and after that so much was expected out of him.What a athlete he was.

What about John Dewberry? Apparently he bought a building next to where I live.

If I remember correctly Dewberry is living in Charleston SC, recovering from cancer maybe, and doing well in real estate development.

Dewberry's company just bought the Campanile building on Peachtree St. I think that's the location. Saw John at the All Amer. Bowl reunion and he is doing well. He splits time here, Charleston and Ireland. I believe his dad has cancer as well.
