I refuse to accept a loss in this game already, I know it will require a good bit of luck and lots of preparation but I have to believe it can be done. I'm pissed that our season has been so poor and even more frustrated so many people seem to have lost faith. So what does everyone think are the keys or x factors to getting this thing won and ending the streak?

Unfortunately they seem very balanced when Stafford is on but he also seems to be from the Bears-era Rex Grossman school of thought where he says F*** it and launches it downfield. Usually I'd say make him beat you deep and challenge him with the blitz but our corners can't handle that. Do you try to contain Moreno and unbalance things forcing Stafford to make some throws and pray our defensive backfield comes through?

I don't think anyone is accepting a loss outside of bbuzzoff. The chances just seem very dim now.

While I don't want to talk about the nad lickers until next week. I will say if our DT's get pressure consistently stay in their backfield we will win this game. When our DT's play well we play well as a group. We have to flush out their qb and let our DE's wreck havoc on them.

First lets beat the tarholes and then on to the next one.

On defense its going to come down to the secondary. I have faith that our front 4/7 can keep Moreno from completely decimating us, but he's a talented runner and if we're on our heels from getting burned on the pass he's going to be able to roll up some yards on the best defenses. Oh, and cover the short out... but the defensive strategy doesnt really allow for that.

On offence, 22 and the Oline have to get it going early and have a banner day, and the WR need to soak their hands in stickem for the next week and a half so that TB can get a near that magical 60% completetion.

Even with those things happening it won't be easy and if we have a lead I'm going to hope like hell that we keep pushing and try to get some cushion, because I won't feel comfortable agianst the hydrant humpers until the clock reads 00:00

I am not so concerned about our DT's and DE's...I am scared to death that our CB's still get beat even when giving a 10-yd cushion.

The reason I say the DT's is because every time they get great push it makes the qb have to make a decision that much faster which is good for us. If nothing is open then watch out for our DE's to have a field day. If staffgirl is indecisive then he may just throw it up and it gives us a better chance to make big plays.

But doesn't it seem that many opponents have had success against us this year when we send our DT's more outside and blitz a LB up the gut...our safety has to come up leaving the CB's man to man...the LB gets picked up on the blitz by the RB...and the rest is history?

It just seems often times we are not trying to just blow the C/G's back into the QB.

I agree with you that we should.

Probably right Hivered. I don't see the whole picture all the time and tend to get focused on one area.

I'm still having a hard time seeing the whole play progress because I get stuck on a certain player of angle. LOL.

I'm thinking botulism in the food supply might do the trick.

If you read Buzzoff, you know I have not conceded that game. Once in a while strong voodoo descends on the Tech program and things happen that are not supported by logic or the laws of physics. I'm not talking about us beating Auburn or beating Miami, those weren't near freaky enough. Curry's win over Alabama is an example. Tying Notre Dame in 1980. Impossible things. Unfortunately, Chan's tenure has shown that snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is more prevalent.

Would you consider our DT's superior to Auburn's or Alabama's or Florida's? It will be the LACK of pressure up front that will most likely be our undoing. We are very weak in the secondary, as you know, and Georgia will be the very best team we play from the aspect of play-action passing. Their run game is so credible that you have to respect it. Tenuta is getting no sleep.

I think we win if we can pound Tashard and move the chains with some play action. Keep the game tight, keep the ball away from them, and don't turn the ball over. A couple long sustained drives should give us the confidence we need to win the game. I'm looking forward to it!

Tenuta is probably re-thinking a lot of conversations that he had with Lawrence Marius at this point. :ugh:

If only we'd sustained a drive all season, or had a game without a turnover in the past two or three, I'd be more hopeful.

I think maybe we could move the stadium across interstate while they're not looking. Make them show up late, score a few early TDs before they get off the bus. Might work.

What I'm curious about is how they'll respond if they loose momentum/emotion early in the game. These last two games they thrive early on getting the upper hand and getting fired up. The flip side seems to be that emotional teams like that aren't as mentally tough so if we can take that away maybe they loose a great deal of their edge.

Oh and I'd like to bring back at least one player from every Tech victory over the dawgs for a pregame ceremony of some sort to get the crowd/team fired up....if nothing else just piss off some dawg fans.

I think weapons-grade anthrax might be a pretty good option.

I think having a masked man steal the wreck at halftime and run some players over and break their necks might be a pretty good strategy too. We'll have to get both Stafford and Moreno in the first pass, though, in case the cops catch us before we can wheel around for another go. Turning radius on Model Ts isn't so hot.

D Gameplan: Tenuta needs to take a page from Bud Fosters book and create sacks with DL twists etc. Leaving more ppl to cover the wr and a LB maybe to spy on Moreno/Stafford. Db's knocking the Wr's down even if they dont catch the ball. Lb's and DT's mowin through olinemen to get to the ball when its down. The next time someone from GT get pushed by one or 2 from the other team, his teammates need to stand up for him dont throw any punches or cause a scene but begin walking in that direction making the refs get in between. Those are things a united/confident team does. Outside of TC/MJ/JD/MC i see no person on that team that is willing to sacrifice himself for his teammate.
O Gameplan: The WR's need to be motivated big time. If one drops more than a certain amount of balls in practice make em wear a pink jersey or something. I miss seeing Wr's that will fight for a ball. Can MJ catch? I'd gladly exchange the small speed diff. for someone that acts like he wants to play football. This crew shows no heart: (who made the biggest play in ugags game last week... a WR) it brought the stadium back to life. Note this wr's: the difference between cheers and boo's by the crowd is completely controlled by your performance on the field.

You bring up a good point. UGA was successful against CJ by interfering on almost every play. When they do call the penalty it is only 15 yds on the deep plays....but they are not going to call it every time...refs just will not do it.
