How to beat UGA

Probably right Hivered. I don't see the whole picture all the time and tend to get focused on one area.

I'm still having a hard time seeing the whole play progress because I get stuck on a certain player of angle. LOL.

We need to shut down their running game and put pressure on Stafford. I think both are possible. I also like the fact they MAY be overlooking us slightly. Anything can happen. See you at AMC!!! ;)

Yukon, never against Ga...

. Once in a while strong voodoo descends on the Tech program and things happen that are not supported by logic or the laws of physics. I'm not talking about us beating Auburn or beating Miami, those weren't near freaky enough. Curry's win over Alabama is an example. Tying Notre Dame in 1980. Impossible things. Unfortunately, Chan's tenure has shown that snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is more prevalent.

we only beat them in years when we have the better team. Never do we upset them with a fluke win, iirc. That goes back to watching this game since the early 70's.

AFR, see my response to Yukon...

we won't sneak out a win because they are overlooking us. That just doesn't happen.Anything doesn't happen in this series...if it is close, we find a way to lose (even lost a 28 point lead in Athens when I was a student). We win only if we are the superior team that year, if we're not or it's a toss-up, we will lose. Not saying we will lose on Nov.28th...just don't expect an upset by GT.

I think UGag thinks they can throw the deep ball down the sidelines and have Massaquoi or Bailey go get it over our corners. They also plan on quick throws to Tripp Chandler and screens to Moreno to offset the blitzes. And then they hope to run Moreno/Brown at will.

I almost think we would do better to play straight up with the safeties staying home and helping the corners on the deep balls and also giving run support. Our safeties will have to make some picks for us to win this game.

Our LB's have to stay home and corral Moreno. That means the DE's must put pressure on Stafford. Their line has done well of late, but they are still young and must have some achilles heels.

In a motivation stunt ala Richt, maybe we should have MJ or Robo intentionally take a late hit on Stafford to try to take his freakin head off while he is standing there watching one of his passes sail downfield. It would be worth 15 yards to put this hotdawg in Crawford Long.

i am not worried about our defense as i am our offense. we usually have a consistent defense and the d has played solid in the last few years. last year only allowing 15 and the year before that only allowing 14. our o has struggled every uga game and i see no one else to blame but chan. u have got to score more than 12 against uga if you have the greatest receiver ever to play college football (calvin). i will not be suprised if uga beats us this year after seeing how poorly we played vs duke and how great they played against auburn. we have good talent (tashard, taylor is a good qb, pretty good receivers, a senior offensive line, an all american punter, an all acc kicker, and a great d) so if we cannot win this year than i have no one else to blame it on but chan.

They only scored 8 off our defense last year.

Also, while the Duke game wasn't the greatest show of execution ever put on by Georgia Tech, I don't think it was "poor".

Also, at this point, what makes you think Taylor Bennett is a better than average QB?

I think weapons-grade anthrax might be a pretty good option.

I think having a masked man steal the wreck at halftime and run some players over and break their necks might be a pretty good strategy too. We'll have to get both Stafford and Moreno in the first pass, though, in case the cops catch us before we can wheel around for another go. Turning radius on Model Ts isn't so hot.
Who will be the driver? My vote is for beej!!

I posted over on BO on Sunday that I was convinced that we would lose after watching them play AU. Now I'm not so sure.

I think on paper they own us, but I just have a feeling that the guys will be sky high for the game. It's in our house and maybe, just maybe, we can fill the place up and get crazy.

I believe we have the talent to shut down Moreno. We've shut down some good running games this year. Our DBs will have to play above their heads to shut down their passing game. I'm hopeful that our DL and blitzing LBs can throw Stafford off his game a little. Even as well as he played Saturday I think he's a bit overrated.

Even so, I don't think TB is on Stafford's level. If, however, we could get our guys to CATCH THE BALL WHEN IT HITS THEM IN THE HANDS every now and again TB would look much better.

And with Bull leading the way I look for about 200 out of Deuce.

GOD I'M SICK OF LOSING TO THOSE GUYS!!!

GO JACKETS!!!

I have said for the longest time that if you can run play action and go long, ugaGs safeties suck! If Taylor can pass, we will win.

my main concern is S. Bailey vs our CBs on the deep routes. Stafford hit his WR a bunch vs AU on fades and deep sideline balls, the exact ones that Morgan scored for VT on us, The Duke WR #15 scored on us and BC did a few times.

So really...I see that as our undoing right now...and the thing is even vs VT we got a bunch of sacks...it didn't help he still passed right through our secondary.

If our opposition has a mentally tough QB, deep threat WR and a decent enough run game...that is enough to beat us IMO. Obviously the OL has to do decent...but they don't have to be all world.

Does Moreno still hop right up after 5 yard losses?

Its also hard to get upbeat when you're getting sacked. We're #1 in the damn country in that department.

We're going to have to play the game of our lives. Its not unpossible.;)

An 80-20 ratio of run to pass is how to beat ugag.

SC, UT, & even AU could run on em all day long.

This will speed the game up, reduce to's, and minimize ugag's athletic advantage....then Travis does his Chambers act! THWG

I came up with another one.

Pit traps.

We sneak into BDS before the game, and construct elaborate pit traps covered with thatching, with swinging trap doors activated by ropes. Then we open them underneath UGA players, allowing them to plummet to their doom. I'm thinking we cover the bottom with spikes, or acidic goo, or maybe the giant garbage compactor from Star Wars.

We could probably beat them then.

I like the Star Wars compactors myself!

Why not follow our esteemed governor's example and just pray for a win

Apparently his rigorous education as a dawg taught him when you've neglected your duties to plan for something, it happens, and you give up... that the best thing to do is just send a shout to the big guy and have him bail you out. I wish Chan had a direct line upstairs like Sunny, we'd probably only have one loss.
