Good Grief!

What a POS. I blow a fart in your general direction! Richt is a poser. Don't look into the light, you will be deceived. A spawn of satan he is, just like his mentor.

You obviously don't grasp the parallel. Who are the 2 worst conference teams that Georgia plays every year? Many would argue Vandy & Kentucky.

In most years, yes. This year, they are both heads and tails above the likes of NC and Duke. That was my only point (and no argument, it is embarassing -- but that has nothing to do with it being an illogical comparison)

Bullcrap. Kentucky is a decent team, and much better than UNC or Duke, but Vandy sucks and is comparable to UNC. Duke is on a whole 'nother planet of suckitude.

Your only rationale for Vandy so far is they gave Michigan a game (which they didn't). UNC gave Notre Dame a better game than that.

...If Tech had lost to UNC and Duke this year do you seriously not think people would want Chan's head on a platter?

Some might argue that plenty of things have happened, in his time there, that would warrant 'heads on platters' at other programs.

But not me, I'm a big fan of his personally :D

Ok, but I don't exactly buy your Kentucky argument. Besides Georgia, here's who they beat:

Texas State
Ole Miss
Central Michigan
Miss State
Vandy
La Monroe

So to recap, they are 3-0 versus the 3 worst teams in the SEC (who had a combined record of 11-25) and had 3 wins out of conference that included a 1-AA school and a game that went down to the wire with 3-8 La Monroe.

Georgia and Central Michigan are the only wins on their schedule worth a crap.

I assure you I in no way am here to defend Kentucky's worthiness, ha ha.

Just saying a bowl team -- any bowl team no matter how mediocre -- does not logically compare to this year's Duke or NC team.

The only other points I'm going to make here are that Kentucky wouldn't be in a bowl if they'd played UNC's schedule, and had Georgia beaten Kentucky, the only reason Kentucky even makes a bowl is the addition of the 12th game this season.

94Dawg,

My advice is to just not argue with these guys. Their hatred runs deep and this is their house. Just say, "you're right" and move on to another topic. This isn't the week for UGA fans to communicate with GT internet forum posters.

They hate us anyway, much more so right now. Just keep in mind that you're a redneck terrorist over here and never correct about anything. No matter how hospitable they would treat you in real life, in virtual reality they wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. Much less give you the virtual benefit of the doubt. CDK likely cheered when Pollack broke his neck.

Arguing over the level of suck is stupid. There are 3 levels of college football. You've got the top 5 teams in the country, then there's teams 6 - 40 who are all about the same (nothing spectacular), and then there's the level of suck outside the top 40 that is in question here. UNC, Duke, Vandy, Miss St., and Ole Miss are on the extreme end of suck. UK may be in the top 40, but that's not much of an accomplishment either.

If you have such a low opinion of the majority of posters over here, as your cynical post suggests, then why do you post over here? This is a Georgia Tech board and I've seen you post here before but never with such contempt.

Kentucky is having a decent season(a good season for them) but they have still struggled to beat bad teams and haven't beaten any team besides UGA that is regarded as good. The same goes for Vandy. Given UGA is the only team in the SEC to lose to both of those teams, and neither of those teams has a good win besides their win vs. UGA, it can be concluded that those are bad losses for UGA. They are comparable to UNC and Duke because they are the worst two teams that UGA plays in-conference on an annual basis while UNC and Duke are the two worst that Tech faces. No, UK and Vandy aren't as bad as UNC and Duke but they still aren't good and aren't teams that UGA has any business losing to. With as much talent as you guys have, your backups should be able to play the entire second half vs. these teams.

There are half-dozen posters here that are unreachable and full of hate. Most everyone here posts with logic and looks at things without gold tinted glasses. If I sounded like an ass it's because I saw a UGA poster swimming in a shark filled circle over a silly topic. My bad. When I said "they" I unintentionally painted with a broad brush.

The problem with typing words is that you can't hear my tone of voice. CDK and mm42 have ripped me quite a few times since I've been here. No big deal, I've had quality exchanges with CDK as well, but they're the first to usually jump down my throat or they just completely ignore me. Mm42 has never agreed or had a positive exchange with me. I admire his dedication to be stand by his word. At least he's consistent or stubborn or both.

I'm ready for the coming beat down.

Fair enough, although I do think there were valid points brought up questioning the legitamacy of Kentucky.

I wasn't referring to this entire forum. I was talking about the 2 guys 94dawg was arguing with. Arguing seems like too strong a word.

My point for him was to just let it go with mm42 and CDK. They were arguing over suckitude. Even if they agreed, did anyone really gain anything from the exchange? If they were arguing over good teams, I wouldn't have said anything.

As for UK, MSU, OM, UNC, Duke, and Vandy, I'd rather kick them out, combine the SEC and ACC, invite Louisville and WVU and create our own division of college football. It will be highly unlikely that a team will ever be able to escape the current ACC and SEC with an undefeated record to play for a MNC. So, just leave the current D1 system and play our own schedule with full playoff system.

This wouldn't have to be for all sports. Just football. It will never happen and it probably wouldn't work, but I'd like to see what would happen.

Darn Jake, I think we tried that succession thing once before. Then on the other hand, half the state's population are modern day carpetbaggers anyway.

But I like your creativity. If the ACC, SEC, and all the other non-BCS conferences told the NCAA they insisted on a football playoff system if would happen within 5 years. Its time.

I actually agree. The level of suck argument is stupid, but calling my comparison "illogical" is ridiculous. No way I give up on this one. Kentucky and Vandy = UNC and Duke, even this year.

And for the record, although I still hate Pollack, the idea of a broken neck pains me enough that I really didn't cheer. (Broken knee and I would have cheered loudly though.)

Dude, if you see logical flaws in my assessment of Vandy, Kentucky, UNC, and Duke, then you should point them out. Your "filled with hate" is your own baggage you brought to the discussion that has nothing to do with it.

Meanwhile, all you have accomplished here is calling your fellow Mutt fan "stupid" for arguing about the strength of these teams.
