I called it...Vick indicted

Just heard about his on the radio about two hours ago. Will this let Falcons off the hook for Vick's enormous contract? Who's the QB going to be this fall if Vick cannot play?

This is not a laughing matter! Our season is in trouble now....

Are there any players in the NFL that came from VThug that is not a punk? That school is worse then Miami ever was. And living in Virginia and going to a few VThug games there fans eat this junk up. VThug fans make UGA fans look like Harvard fans....

I can't stand him, like I can not a lot of pro athletes.

But, maybe he should be found guilty first.

Duke lacrosse comes to mind.

If there is any justice in the world, I hope Vick winds up like Mike Webster later in life...

When have the falcon's season NOT been in trouble as long as that douchebag Vick was the quarterback? I am laughing and may actually cheer for the falcons again when we shed some of the urban scum that clings to the team...

How long will it be before Vick is robbing people on the street like Maurice Clarrett? The seem to share the same character traits...

The difference is that the prosecutor appeared to wait in the Vick case until he had the evidence. Nifong was very adamant from the start that he was going after Duke lacrosse and bringing charges. While Vick's name surfaced as owner of the home, nobody accused him of wrong doing until this federal indictment came down. That's what a professional attorney who is dotting the I's and crossing the T's does vs. an elected hack pandering for votes.

Right on my man! Excellent post.

I miss your posts Dust Jacket!

This is an indictment and there is a ways to go before Vick is charged for what he may or may not have done.

If he has done what this indictment says he has done, then I hope he is prosecuted and does some time --these allegations are repulsive --just disgusting.

FWIW, I was a little surprised to hear on the radio yesterday that the conviction rate for federal indictments is around 95%. I would not have expected it to be that high, but I guess it means the feds usually don't come down on you without a serious case.

Whether he's innocent or guilty, I also think that Vick probably has more money than the 5% who are not convicted.

It's true, Vick's defense team will have more resources to set up his defense but the fed's conviction rate also means that they know what the hell they're doing and this indictment shouldn't be taken lightly.

So the question you gotta ask yourselves, is whether Vick is richer than 95% of people who are federally indicted.

beej67,
is thinking 'yes'

I'm thinking that 95% conviction rate includes a whole lot of plea bargains.

I'm wondering if Vick is going to plead guilty to not buying enough chew toys.

Who knows, if he drags this thing out long enough, he might be able to buy a pardon by donating to a certain presidential library.

The trial will not take place for at least a year. Unless the NFL or the Falcons jump early, Vick will still play the full season. It will most likely be his last though.

On a related note, I heard this morning that Pac Man may be rejoining the team a lot sooner than the original suspension.

Edit: Pacman may be allowed at training camp, but not allowed to play in games - http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2939799
