I caught some of Espnu yesterday and Jim

All three of those teams should lose this weekend. I don't really know if that's a good or a bad thing for us.

VT @ FSU - VT wraps up when it tackles. Low rushing yards cause FSU to air it out, and turn it over often.
WF @ Miami - Comeback Game - Riley Skinner plays like the Riley Skinner of old
Florida v UGA - Will be a repeat of the UF/LSU game

Anytime an Atlantic team beats a Coastal team is good for us. UGA is playing LSU.

I think the answer to your originially posed question is that Va., FSU, Miami, UNC and Georgia all have above average quality defenses if they tackle well. I think we have played similar defenses to these in BC, VT and Clemson. You could probably throw a rug over all of them, reach in, pick one and you would not have any appreaciable difference.

I think that what that tells us is that each of our remaining 5 games will be tough games. We should have an edge at home just because of the traditional 3 points home field advantage gives us, so I am optimistic that we will win Va., FSU and Miami. On the road we have to overcome that 3 point differential so that makes winning a bit more difficult. I think UNC and Georgia will be higher risk for us losing for that reason. It will come down to breaks, penalties and turnovers. We have to get better at eliminating the last two variables if we hope to finish 11 and 1 on the regular season.

Go Jackets!

I don't even know why we are talking about Miami's defense. FSU, yes, but not Miami. They have talent but are undisciplined. They get down on themselves if they start giving up big yards and scores. We will beat Miami on a Thursday night.

FSU's defense is TOUGH but I don't know if they will be able to just sit in their area of the field and play our offense. They seem to be the type that flies to the ball and relies on their athletics ability. Now Mickey Andrews may be able to adjust that for the game against us but I still see us putting up at least 21. If we do that, we will beat them.

As a previous poster said: "Concerned but not worried"

a few issues

if the D can disrupt the QB getting to the pitch then the D can disrupt the TO however with have quick pitches on the corners that counter that "knifing" move.

I am not convinced that F$U's D is better than VT or Miss St if fact they may be worse.

The other issue is OUR D may keep F$U under 14pts which means we probably win.

The other issue is the O did not look good against Clem's son. Hopefully we will see more rhythm against UVA.

UNC does not bother me. The only way we lose to them is TURNOVERs which could happen but that is like being worried about the weather.

I am actually more worried about FSU's offense then I am about their defense. I really hope Jahi will be better and up to game speed when Free Shoes comes to visit. I think the only way FSU will have success against our defense is to throw the ball, and they do have a few stud receivers.

You do know that Yates is supposed to be back for our game. Granted Tate is probably a much bigger loss for them and he will be out.
