Overall a fun trip, but I was quite dissapointed by the demeanor of the fans and expected more from an SEC powerhouse gameday.

This is not to say the fans were bad, but the whole campus was walking around like it was a funeral all day. Not an ounce of excitement all day. I kind of assumed that they were saving their energy for the game, but I was wrong...

Besides the normal cheers when something good happens and jeers when something bad happens, there was very little crowd involvement with the game. This is probably b/c I live life with yellow glasses but I would rather go to a Tech game ANY DAY and scream and yell till I lose my lose my voice. Overall the gameday experience at GT is much more involved and energetic, even when we play teams like Samford.

On a side note: The trip was excellent. I went with my boss(AU Alum), his son(who I am good friends with), his son's wife, and my girlfriend. We sat first row right to the left of the goal post. The campus was great, as expected, and everyone was very nice overall.

I've been to a lot of other places and the GT gameday experience is pretty good, as is the in game crowd.

Ole Miss = Duke. Nuff said?
One of the guys I was with made this same analogy, saying that the place was totally different when LSU was there. This is why I noted that even vs Samford Tech's atmosphere was better.

Also there were an inproportionate amount of handicapped people there. Not trying to be mean, just an observation.

I've been to the UGAg-Arkansas game and the UGAg-Vandy game each of the past two years in Athens and then the UGAg-Tech game last year.

In these games the dawg faithful can make quite a bit of noise at the right times, but its not a constant wall of noise as some would leave you to believe and I don't think the average noise level would be higher than at BDS/GF for a big game. BDS/GF is a more confined volume.
