Big Buck, we must be about the same age, because that is about how long I have been a Tech football fan.
Since Gailey is the head coach, it is his responsibility to make sure the assistanct coaches perform their jobs. He is very much like a CEO.
As stated before in an earlier post, he has the most credentials going into the season than any previous coaches, other than Heisman and Alexader. I do not know their (Heisman & Alexander) credentials prior to coaching at Tech.
Gailey has the responsibility to make changes when the assistants are not doing their jobs. He has stated he will let the OC and DC call their respective plays, and, I assume, make their own substitutions.
I have seen enough of BOB from the Peach Bowl, through last year, and through this past Saturday. His offense is totally unimaginative. If I were Gailey, I would either take over the offense or place Nix in charge. O'Brien played defense in college and has not played offense. Nix has both played the quarterback position and coached offenses at other schools. He has done very well on the offensive side of the ball.
Tenuta has done well at all of the other schools where he has coached, so I would give him a little more time with our players, however, I would put him under the gun. He has a ton of experience and talent on that side of the ball. His defensive plan was poor for the Clemson game. As stated in another post, I give him a "D".
Also, the special teams were pathetic. That assistant coach gets an "F-".
I am not ready to panic and pull the plug on Gailey, because he has the credentials of a good CEO of football coaching, but he definitely needs to get involved with the offense and exert greater pressure on the other coaches.
We have more pure athletes than Clemson. We have had better recruiting seasons than Clemson for quite a few years now, other than last year. Recruiting "can not" be used as an excuse for our loss to Clemson, since we have the better players at present.
It was pure and simple, we were outcoached in this game the same as last year.
