I hope Dem is wrong...

Coleman, I hope you run a lot of smack at those mutt parties about who has the most recent NC.

Take Care.

Let the UGA fans crow all they want. They wanted Muschamp as DC when Van Gorder left, but WM told them NO.

Ugag's defense has come on very strong with a bunch of young guys. Plus their team abused Muschamp's defenses. Don't kid yourself if you think they want him as I am sure they're none too pleased with who they have.

Muschamp is suspect i agree, However if he beats UGA soon- UGA will disown his ass, and we will forgive him for making a bad choice 20 yrs ago -as a high school student. The past could all be forgotten. IF HE PRODUCES!

why support the hiring of someone who is already "suspect"?

I think it would be hysterical if we hired a mutt to beat them. Not only would we prove we are better than them on the field, but smarter too. Plus the hatred they would have for our coach would be so relentless, he'd instantly become a GT fan favorite.

I like it.

Auburn's offense had 5 turnovers, that had little to do with Muschamp's defense. Oh by the way, Muschamp's defense was easily in the TOUGHEST conference in the country and managed to be ranked #8 overall.

Last year his defense was ranked #7. He's slipping some. Especially when he was with LSU and his defense was ranked #1.

Thats all fine...I want to know about OFFENSE! Score a lot of points, put people in the stands! If he was it then I would have to guess that he has some OC that has the scheme to be exciting and score points otherwise, a fiery good defensive guy will win 7-8 games like we have and not put any more people in the stands than we have now. Just my opinion.

I agree WM is a good def coach however, having top 10 talent, which AUB and LSU, do have certainly helps!

I think you would not like Tenuta so much if there was a youtube video of him during a game.

i think both Tenuta and Muschamp have the personality to be great coordinators, like Bud Foster, neither IMO would be a good choice for HC

im not opposed to profanity, and yes i have played and been involved in many sports, including football

there is a time and a place for everything. to me, a coach that can ice you with a stare has more staying power over the long run than one with all the screaming and antics. to me, that is not 'energizing the program' that is more like acting like a child when you should be the leader

I've already heard some crap from mutt fans about hiring one of their own as our coach.

I assume that Muschamp's biggest pluses would be recruiting and the energy he brings to the game. What are his other strengths?

I have no problem with the thought of hiring an ex-Mutt. In fact the main reason why mutt fans might give anybody grief is because they are scared of the thought of being beaten by one of their own.

Personally I prefer Chris Hatcher a bit over Muschamp because I think head coaching experience at just about any level is a huge plus. Being a head coach is very little like being a coordinator which is why so many successful coordinators fail miserably when they become head coaches. But that's just my opinion.

But I'll be there to support whoever DRad hires. I have reasons to like all of the candidates who's names I've heard thus far and hope that whoever it is we hire turns out to be the right guy for the job.

Yes, yes it does...

BTW, It might be interesting to know exactly what role Will had in recruiting talent of that level.

That, my good friends, is key.

Why would Saban bring him to the NFL in top position if he was only a screamer and a recruiter.

you might ask why did Miami bring Saban? as the results were not that great, maybe touting WM time with the Fins is not such a great recommendation

If Muschamp gets hired it will not be b/c of the YouTube video. I can't believe some of you think he will be hired just b/c he yells.

Some of you if you were bosses would probably even give a job to a less qualified GT candidate when a more qualified UGAy candidate is available
if you think they way you do in regards to this situation. Get over yourselves.
Making fun of them and beating them on the field is all I want.

No it's more like connecting with his players. That youtube clip was about him and his defense being excited about their performance. Seemed to me the kids were into it and if anything it got them more hyped. So I'd say you're 100% wrong.

I keep hearing this More Qualified hmmmmmmmmmm.

As I hung out with the mutt nation at a Christmas party last night and had to endure the losses by WV and Mizz., it bring to the forefront the importance of this hire.

I know I have been a strong advocate for Hatcher and that has not changed. I still think he is the guy. Having said that, reality is that unless several of these people refuse or change their minds, he won't be the hire. That's my first diappointment and frustration.

My second is that I just have a hard time believing that Muschamp is the right hire. With what Dems says, however, it is looking that way. I can tell you that their will be a strong segment of the alum that don't like him immediatley due to age, mutt background or the fact that he seemingly can make a sailor blush with his fowl mouth. I still don't see the facination with him. I can almost assure you that he is not more qualified than others in speculation.

Face it, anytime at LSU was spent as a yes man to Saban as we know he calls the shots on the defensive side of the ball.

Also, he has not been anywhere that required the taking of lesser talent and winning over a peroid of time. He seems to me to be much more likey to use GT to get a SEC job ASAP. Hatch seems more likely to want to stay in Ga. and build our program.

Recruiting is a must but the mutt nation can tell you it's not all, see Ray Gooff. I know I am rambling here but I don't see the reason to hire Muschamp when Hatcher is more qualifed and has the same talents and obviously more HC experience. I am not against a Coordinator but when there is a guy with as much talent sitting there with the HC experience, it doesn't make much sense to me.

Don't discount the skills Hatch has developed as a HC that Mus would have to develop along with everything else.

Also, get ready for the mutts to scream that we need to get one of there's to even have a chance at beating them. I freakin hate UGA.

Coleman

Come on now Coleman, don't jump off the ship again without giving someone a chance. Just because if in fact it doesn't turn out to be YOUR guy, it doesn't mean its a bad thing for GT.

Yeah, WM might do some cussin (unlike JT, right). I bet he would conduct himself as a perfect gentleman when the time came.

Whatever mistakes GT might make during a game with Hatch or WM as our coach, there is NO way we will ever again see the mistakes happen because the coach did not have the team ready to play, or because he refused for 4 years to hire a R/C, or because he would not develop a QB, or because the HC was such a wuss that he always played just to get a 3 point lead.

We may not win 10 every year, but we would fight like hell for 60 in 12 games a year.

the fire muschamp has is exactly what gt is looking for and if he does end up getting the job i can guarantee that is the reason why. chan had no enthusiasm whatsoever. drad wants a coach who will reenergize the fan base and though i may not like him going to uga i would be fine with him or hatcher.
