If we make it to the ACCCG I am pretty sure we will play Clemson. And I'm pretty sure we will lose.

They won't need a quarter to get their defense caught up next time.

I hope Boston College can do the impossible again because I don't want to see Clemson OR FSU in the championship game.

Clemson didn't outplay us. We had more overall yardage than them (100 more than we had against them last year), and we had two long drives late in the forth when it mattered. Yes our only TD was on a big play, and two were "special teams", but two of their TDs were on long bombs, and if VT has taught us over the years, it's that in the ACC, Special Teams wins championships.

Too early in the season to tell who's really good yet.

I really don't put much stock into last night. It was hard fought, but I think we will know more about GT next Thursday. Just had a bit of an off night. I think Paul Johnson may have even learned if something is working real well he may be to change the scheme a little earlier. IMO.

They outplayed us after the first quarter. That is the point I'm trying to make. If we meet again they will be ready at the start of the game.

Of course PJ could make some adjustments anticipating a similar scheme but I would not expect to come out with a win if we play Clemson for the championship.

They may be ready at the start but maybe we play well the last 3 quarters next time. You never know. They should have been ready at the start of this game, given they had practiced for the option during stretches of practice prior to the season and their DC was supposedly well-suited to stopping it. I also wouldn't count on Josh to have another game passing like he did last night.

We'll play whoever wins between FSU and Clemson. Right now, I'd give FSU the edge. I can Ponder having a 400-yard day if his OL can give him enough time to release the ball.

You seem to be forgetting that they spent offseason time preparing for us for this game, and still had 'shell-shock' for a quarter or two. They won't have the advantage of focusing on us that much if we play again. I believe that it would be another close game, but I think our offense would be in full stride by then.

And when our offense is in full stride I'll take it over anyone.

I think Miami's coach has said it takes a quarter to get up to game speed on the option. He says no matter how much you practice it, your scout team can't run it at full speed.

Based on previos years, never discount the Clemson factor of laying a couple of eggs when it matters. You might could say the same about us.
