I miss A-Backs

One of the things that frustrated me about CPJ's scheme is that we never found a way to market the AB to the NFL. I wish we could've gotten them more passes to demonstrate their ability as slot WRs. However, there's no denying that we still had a solid stable of them.

It's bizarre that we couldn't sell recruits on a run-heavy, option-based offense as a road to the NFL, given how often we rushed the ball. But NFL RBs have to pass-block and we didn't do nearly enough of that to get the guys that kind of experience.

If I recall, he played A-back some when Dwyer was still here in 2009.
Allen played A-Back in 09

Wrong. B-Back.

I've been watching some old highlights and I am seeing a lot of good players I really enjoyed watching play A-Back.

Guys like:
Anthony Allen
Roddy Jones
Orwen Smith
Clinton Lynch
Qua Searcy
Robby Godhigh

And although he was a qb, I do miss seeing Jacob Eason throw to our guys.

The toss sweep to Luke Cox was 100% gauranteed for 2 yards.

I'd also add Embry Peeples.

Thanks for putting my picture up - 9 rows down from the right edge of the scoreboard. What a day!
I was in the upper deck over on the lake or pond side or whatever that was. absolutely roasting. and hung over as hell.
we had run into John Dewberry the night before. We had a damn good time.
