I remember a time when I cringed when Godsey entered the field.

Actually, for those that remember the Carquest Bowl against WVirginia well....it could have been a disaster early as one of the opening plays from scrimmage was a swing pass thrown directly into the arms of a WVa LB in our backfield for an easy pic 6...and he dropped it.

NOBODY EVER CALLS SWING PASSES AT GEORGIA TECH.

Oh, wait, wrong thread. :P

How many games did Joe start his sophomore year?

All of them.

1996: RS Freshman, started all games, but shared time with Brandon Shaw, didn't play much against UGAg due to injury
1997: Soph, started all games
1998: Junior, started all games
1999: Senior, started all games

The nadir of Little Joe's career was his 3rd career start against UNC. He shared time with Shaw in that game and it was not clear who was the better QB. Joe ended with the Ball-esque stat line of 14 attempts, 4 completions, 3 INTs, 0 TDs, and 62 yards passing. He did rush for 42 yards also. We lost the game 16-0. However, he was a redshirt freshman, not a redshirt junior like Bennett.

in favor of Brandon Shaw

.....who would later go on to become one of the most dangerous players in the history of GT intramural flag football. Actually that's probably a stretch since he didn't play qb (I think that was against the rules?) but he did throw about a 70 yard pass for a score at the end of the fraternity championship game one year.

Made for an exciting finish, even though I think they missed the conversion and lost. I really don't remember much other than the fact that he threw a ball as far as I've ever seen anyone throw it.
