I think PJ should retire as OC

It seems like regardless of how we perform on the field, PJ is going to be our coach for many years to come. So if that's the case, we need to maximize what we can do with him. I'd like to see him start taking over a CEO type role over the program and focus more on building the program as a whole and let others handle the gameday aspects. I'd like to see him get one of his disciples (Ivin Jasper has gotten mentioned a lot over the years) to take over this area, while he can spend more time on recruiting and helping the positional coaches succeed.

This might be PJ's offense and his baby, but there comes a time where a fresh new way of looking at things is needed. I know everyone will point to the epic numbers we put up last year, but that seems more like an oasis in a stretch of inconsistent results over the last 4 or 5 years. Obviously, the O-Line is where a new perspective is needed the most, and bringing in someone new could help immensely... not to mention someone on the staff might finally have the guts to tell PJ that Sewak needs be gone.

I can't say for sure that this would fix things, but I'd like to see some new ideas tried out, and I think is this is the best way to kind of reset things and re-energize the fanbase. We all know what this offense can do at its very best.

We had some truly atrocious play calling tonight (in addition to the 3 fumbles, bad penalties, and awful punting game). The one that really stuck out to me was a 2nd and 1 in the second quarter. We were up 14-0, with the ball. You either run it up the middle and secure the first down or take a shot deep with a go or post route. Instead, we run it right into the teeth of their defense with an A back sweep, lose 5 yards, and proceed to do absolutely nothing offensively the rest of the night. Just awful.

PJ's weakest area has been as CEO and best has been as OC. The flight of players the past 3 years has put the team in the situation they are in now. "Roster Management" has been horrible.

I wish we could have skipped back 10 years and hired a CEO and made PJ the OC.

I'd like to see him öööö can Sewak and whoever on the staff is not a stellar recruiter. We need better coaching (no duh) but we also need better players. I'm sick of seeing a TE or FB one on one block our D Ends...

We need that guy that called all the plays last year... who the öööö was that?

He's playing for the Patriots right now. I've also heard that's he's been developing ways for curing cancer, balancing the budget, and kicking Putin's ass on the side.

Sewak is no better than shankwieler (sp?) was under cbl. Should be a high school coach.

If not fired in a few weeks he will probably get a raise and extension.

Do you need a hug, son?

Not as bad as you need to un-öööö yourself.

Young guys don't make plays, and they limit play calling. As Beestorm pointed out, PJ looked like a maestro last year - that öööö is easy when you've got a few future NFLers blocking for you and making big catches.

I agree with this, which why maybe spending more time in that area may help out. And I can't imagine having a guy like Jasper call our plays would make our offense worse. It's not like PJ would be hard to reach if he needed some advice.

If you're done being bitchy, then calm down and go back and see where I acknowledge how terrific the offense was last year. However, it does us no good if the offense is going from great to bad to great ad nauseum. And even if we do have an inordinate amount of injuries this year, there have been several seasons where we were healthy and the offense was still inconsistent. So we can keep doing the same thing, or try something new that could not only improve our offense, but give our coach more time to recruit a NFL player or two.

CPJ is the best we will ever get unless the Hill öööös off and lets us recruit the same athletes our competition recruits. Sewak, on the other hand, is ööööing Pat Nix, Jr. and needs to be fired yesterday.

Does no good? We've been to two top level bowls under Paul Johnson. Weve beaten UGA twice in their own home and have taken them to the wire in all but two games.

Do you have any reason at all to believe that he neglects recruiting in favor of play calling?

And I did read your post. It was ööööing stupid. You say we need a new OC, then say PJ needs to address the oline. Hard to do that when you're a "CEO".

Some folks need to learn that this is not Bobby Dodd's Georgia Tech. We won't be Clemson, and we won't be competitive with teams like Clemson with "CEO" coach.

The play calling isn't the problem, nitwits. It's that we're starting eight highschoolers and we've lost 100+ starts. Over 20% of our entire team was missing tonight.

Can yall imagine how bad GT would be if we were on a NCAA probation of -20 scholarships? It'd be death penalty worthy. Yet that's where we're playing at right now. We're taking walk ons off the street and putting shirts on them. WE LOST TWO MORE TONIGHT, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.

Someone sold their soul to the devil right before the end of the UGA game to ensure that win, and this year's season is payment for their unholy pact.

We've also had the worst season in 20 years and the bowl streak snapped underneath him. And every coach has a finite amount of time they can spend on things.... you think it would be a bad idea if he spent more time on recruiting? And on the other side of it, do you think our offense is going to get appreciably worse under someone like Jasper? Especially when he would still be working directly under PJ's guidance?

So no. You have no reason to think PJ is not putting forth the correct amount of effort towards recruiting.

I need to pay floridajacket for this sig.
