I was feeling pretty good until I read this...

I refuse to read this.

I'm on a gameday high right now, and this post seems to me the equivalent of police coming to your house party on a noise complaint... first you're excited, loud and ready for anything, then you're quiet, don't want to be loud, and its ruined.

GO JACKETS!

beet klimpsun!

Tony Barnhart's column: Does Clemson's D have something special for Tech?

I didn't know much about Clemson's new DC (Kevin Steele) but apparently he's no slouch. I was ok until I got to the part where he worked for Tom Osborne at Nebraska for six years.

Yikes - this could be harder than we thought - or at least harder than I thought.

Coach Johnson has seen it all. I'm worried about the game, but not for this reason. If we do what we're supposed to do, we win going away.

Kevin Steele probably knows how to defend us better than any other DC we face. Instead of just prepping two defenses vs us and waiting for us to adjust, like most of the DCs we run into, he'll get into a playcalling chess match with PJ.

Thankfully, I have little faith that Clemson's offense will do anything vs our D.

Do you forget who our offensive coordinator is? Paul Johnson will tweak this offense to get the job done.. He created this offense to be his own, and look at all the talent we have! We will be fine..

We don't run the wishbone.

(Shhhhhh.....)

Kevin Steele may be smart and working with a lot of talent, speed, and size.

BUT - he had 2-3 days tops to prepare his troops in practice. They are at a big disadvantage here, no matter what you read.

I also like that Miami is currently getting crunk off of their own press clippings. I hope I don't have to change my tune later tonight, but I like the early setup for us.

First, I think 100% GT >> 100% Clemson. The question is whether or not our guys can come out playing at 100% for 60 minutes.

BUT - he had 2-3 days tops to prepare his troops in practice. They are at a big disadvantage here, no matter what you read.

This is actually not true according to some of Swinney/Steele interviews. Clemson has been putting in periods in spring practice and fall camp to prepare for specific teams. They specifically said GT was one of those teams. So while it's true that the players only had 2-3 days tops to only focus on GT, apparently they've been having practice periods dedicated to preparing for specific teams since the Spring.

I felt good until I remembered who Clemson's coach is....then I paused, chuckled, and felt good some more.

Steele is just a coach, not the players. You are making the assumption that the players will adhere strictly to what the coach is coaching them.

Nebraska ran option plays out of the I. Different formation. Different offense. Similar in that they ran option plays out of it.
