If DRad CAN'T get his guy he will leave...

It is not just one candidate shot down by the board and Clough (it is ultimately his call). It would seem to me that he was forced to interview a candidate that he had no desire to speak with and he may have this candidate forced on him. I am reading between some lines but I think there is a reason that dems said PJ was not a good fit weeks ago and now he has been interviewed.

For all intents and purposes Dan Radakovich was just terminated by Wayne Clough.

So you think Clough is the curveball and he struck out DRad?

My thoughts when I read Dem's remark were that there must have been some totally unexpected event pop up -- possibly something outside the GTAA. As others have said, DRad and Clough should be fairly well aligned in this process and staying in close communications so there aren't any embarrassing surprises.

Unless the curveball was a need to back up and rework some areas of the contract in order for it to be acceptable. After all, the review by Clough and the board isn't just to accept/reject DRad's recommendation for HC, but wold also include approving the contract terms.

[Yeah, this is my first post. I am newly registerd, but not a new reader. And I'm from the class of '73 so I've been following the Jackets for a few decades.]

What is this curveball everyone is talking about? I must have missed Dem's post.

DRad should get his preferred hire, but also he should be held accountable for the decision.

In addition, DRad needs to show that he is committed to GT in the long-term so that he will be around and have to live with his choice.

Then fans should accept the HC hire and get behind DRad if he has gone "all-in" and bet his career on making his best decisions and taking risks for GT.

IMO, the "reason" was Navy's season finishing out. Dem hinted at it, but let it out after the Army-Navy game.

There are a lot of people automatically suspicious of Clough. Hopefully they started something up and this all turns out to be nothing.

If you want to believe dem he also said we wanted someone young with alot of energy. This is not PJ.

I haven't been keeping perfect track, but it sure seems the fonts who didn't like the decision to fire Chan are the ones who are latching onto every negative rumor about the next coach hire.

My impression was the other way around - that it was the naysayers doing the naysaying because, well, they're a bunch of naysayers.

Why do you have a crappy picture of wolverine as your avatar?
