If Dwyer doesn't play this week...

I bet the dive from the Bback has some big plays, considering the Bback won't be being keyed on as heavily... Though Cox and Watson aren't necessarily as fast, they are certainly more than capable of busting through the first DT, and moving on to the next level. Just wait and see..

Your thoughts?

Can't Allen play BBack too? Preston Lyons healthy?

I agree that if we play to our potential, we can still beat UNC without Dwyer.

I just think with no Dwyer, the defense won't have a main guy to key on, hence more will be open. Just my perception. We may actually play better without him.

I said the same thing after the Miami game. When Cox got in, the dive was getting 4-5 yards because they weren't taking him seriously.

I don't think they take any of our running back seriously except Dwyer, and maybe Allen.

1) We are certainly not better without Dwyer.

2) We are better with Anthony Allen carrying the ball because Anthony Allen is not blocking for Anthony Allen. Were Anthony Allen blocking for Anthony Allen, Anthony Allen would be killed behind the line of scrimmage by Anthony Allen's man. Whew!

That's because if any other RB gets it besides Dwyer or Allen, then that would imply we need blocking on the edge (ignoring Cox/Lyons sub runs).

Allen can't block, apparently our WR's forgot how to block, so why worry about Jones running it or Wright/Peeples running it, when you have more than enough unblocked guys to stop the run?

Now when Allen runs, he gets blocks, so of course they are worried about him.

A lot of you must think defenses are really that stupid. They aren't keying in on Dwyer. They are keying in on the dive. Dwyer just so happens to be the dive person. Who cares if it is Bitch Tits McGee at B-back, they will play their assignments to try and beat the TO.

If we succeed at running the ball this week, it will not be because they can't "key in on Dwyer." It will be because CPJ coached our team up this past week to make the proper blocks and the players executed. Successful option defense is not accomplished by keying in on one player. It's basic assignment football.

You have a point. As someone said, once Dwyer was out, we would get 4 yards on the dive against da U. But that would only last for so long against a team that wasn't already in cruise control.
