If Gailey is a must keep then Why?

Bluntly, if Gailey does not produce 12 wins, with Georgia being one of them, he gets the axe. We can not afford to keep a mediocre coach.

And if Gailey leaves, and the new coach next year wins 7 or 8 games and loses to UGA, do we then start looking for his replacement?

The word that comes to mind is progress. 12 Wins is sufficient progress for Gailey. He has been here for a while now and we still have ended each season with 5 losses and with loses go Georgia each season and at least one embarrasing loss each season. All I am asking for is to make some of the close games wins, and to cut out that embarrasing loss.

A new coach has a different standard. He is required to set his own program in place and to make sure that the players and coaches under him know what to do and how to do it. After he has been here a while then we should judge his performance.

This is a little bit over th top, don't you think? CG had a great chance to win 11 or 12 this year simply because our competition was as low as it will be for a long time.

When it's all boiled down, my main reasons for displeasure and wanting a change is:
  • his inability to beat georgia
  • his refusal to play another quarterback
  • his late season meltdowns
The guy simply fell apart when it counted.

Believe that if you will. And I'm sure you will, but I'm willing to bet that NO coach would have had as good a record as Gailey did the past 5 years with the obsticles he's had to overcome.

Did you see the New England vs San Diego game. The patriots had no business beating the Chargers at home today,......until you factor in that Marty Schottemheimer(?) was coaching the Chargers.

12 wins is progress? If the bar is that high, we might as well start taking up a collection so we can pay the buyout. For my money the bar = beating ugag.

So now you want to lower the standard just because a new coach is in place. Hmm sounds like accepting medicocrity to me. How long is "a while"? If Gailey leaves, and the new coach wins 7 or 8 games per year and also loses to UGA, do you then start looking for a replacement, or do you do that the first year he loses to UGA?

Dear Lord. I hope this is sarcastic.

And this relates to Georgia Tech in what way?

I think each year is different and you have to be fair to each coach. Some years 9 wins is a good season, sometimes 7 is a great season at GT depending on the year. Sometimes 9 wins stinks- and I truly think this year actually stinks. I know that seems harsh- and my expectations are not that high every year to be realistic. But with a pathetic ACC, with an experienced team, a weaker UGA overall, a pathetic ACCG, and an obvious question on why in the world Bennett has really never had a chance- I just think this was actually a year that stinks. Forget 9 wins- its a 9 win season that stinks at GT- and its because of the Head Coach. You are right- no matter what- the bar over time is you had better beat UGA at least 1 out of 4 maybe 2 out of 5. Im am more than willing to get a new coach, even take a step back, to beat UGA and win the ACC, and go to a BCS. I think Gailey is an ok coach- but just too stubborn when its all said and done.

You tell 'em Beej!

Anyone who wants to settle for less than 15 wins is a mediocrity-accepting wanker!

Sissy! It is just how many games you win, but how you win those games!

If we don't win each game by at least 3 TD's, then ax the wanker!
