top tier. No recruit will want to come here. And why would they? No coach that achieves even a modicum of success can be enticed to stay. Even a "Tech Man" like Bill Curry jumped at a chance to coach at a hated rivalry.

Same ShT Different Year.

On the other hand this is all premature, but we have seen it over and over and over...

Dude. It's not happening. If it does, I'll buy you a beer.

Ahh, when there's fear and moaning, Dustjacket is somewhere to be found. Will you guys grow a pair of balls. PJ ain't leaving. We have just as much money as Auburn does.

Does anyone remember O'Leary getting his raise after Auburn's interest in 1998. Auburn is not a step up from GT jackasses.

DING DING DING

I'll bet he's been waiting all season for something like this.

This I agree with. Only OLeary and Ross made step ups.. hate ND or not, they are ND.

I can't wait for the AJC to run an article on this tripe. They'll do anything to stir the pot.

DustJacket loses the thread.

Chill out.

GT is a perfect fit for CPJ and he's just settling in. He's going to be well paid here. He's got very reasonable alumni to please and a first class AD. He can recruit the players he needs. The option is not attractive to NFL teams. Other than eventual boredom, I don't understand why anyone would think that CPJ would jump ship to go to an equivalent div 1 program. For one thing, he's worked hard to introduce the option here. Why go someplace else and start over.

But.. WE'RE NOT A TOP TIER PROGRAM ANY MORE! WE NEED TO FIRE PAUL JOHNSON RIGHT NOW AND MOVE TO THE SEC, IT'S OUR ONLY HOPE!!!!!

Re: If Johnson leaves, stick a fork in our football program ever being looked at as..

HOW COULD WE KEEP A COACH LIKE PAUL JOHNSON WHEN WE'RE NOTHING MORE THAN ACADEMICS AND CAN NEVER HAVE ANY SUCCESS AT FOOTBALL!?!?!?

Yea, answer me that one.

Any REMOTE thought like THIS goes hand in hand with the sighting of a UFO hovering over TURNER field--thinking it had found the MOTHER-SHIP landed!!

Re: If Johnson leaves, stick a fork in our football program ever being looked at as..

Anything can happen, but why would Johnson go from a place where he will be BCS eligible his first year, likely win 10 games, and generally considered to possibly be the next Bobby Dodd, to a program that just fired a coach who's won 50 games the last 5 years and beat his arch-rival 6 years IAR?

That is the kind of silliness that will make AU a wasteland for several years until another Saban happens along. AU really needs to get a hold of things there (read: get Louder out of the soup). If PJ goes there, then we really have to re-evaluate his level of intelligence. I don't think that will be necessary.

Curry, I mean Johnson would never leave Tech.

We could always hire Navy's coach. :D

Re: If Johnson leaves, stick a fork in our football program ever being looked at as..

“I’ve said that over and over,” he said. “At this time of the year, it’s kind of the norm. Everybody talks about things and rumors. If I wasn’t intending on being here, I wouldn’t be running like I am going out recruiting right now.”

Come on man....RELAX.

Also, weren't you the guy who wanted Tater Tot (aka Terry Bowden) to be our coach?

Re: If Johnson leaves, stick a fork in our football program ever being looked at as..

Hell, I do not believe all this s**t!! PJ is NOT leaving--he is a class individual and he has a CONTRACT (which will be sweetened as reward for this year)--What will the "chicken littles" say next year after we win the NCG!!!

Preach on - most appropriate avatar on ST, that atom bomb thing is his worldview.

Re: If Johnson leaves, stick a fork in our football program ever being looked at as..

What was UF before Spurrier?

What was Ugag before Dooley?

Second tier programs, with great new coaches who stuck it out and made their programs elite.

CPJ will elevate our program to a level we haven't seen since the Great Saint Dodd.

Good times are ahead, gentleman. (and ladies)
