If Tech beats Western Carolina, but loses to Ole Miss, UCF, and Pitt...will head coach Geoff Collins be fired and an interim named for the 2022 season?

Someone remind me what the buyout situation is. Do we need to keep him the length of the season to avoid a massive buyout?

"Collins’ buyout would be approximately $12 million (salary plus other guarantees) if he were to be fired after this season. The buyout drops to $7.2 million if the move is made after 2022, $4.8 million after 2023 and $2.4 million after 2024."

At this stage, you have to see out the decision that was made at the end of last year. I do have hope for a negotiated reduction in buyout to make him go away.

He will not be fired in that scenario, though he should be—it’d just be too expensive with the buyout.

Fire him before mid-December (can't remember exact date), it's $10M. After that mid-December date, it's $7M. After '23 season, it's like $5M.

Some of you clearly haven’t been paying attention until very recently. This has been discussed over and over again in the off-season. That tells me you aren’t vested enough in this to be outraged.

If Geoff really loves Tech as well as he says he does, the best way I can see this going down is TSTAN coming to him and saying that we need to go in a different direction, we'll go ahead and pay you your 2023 salary which is around 2.9 million and Geoff agreeing to that and both sides parting ways amicably.
