I think Ted has proven himself at Duke. IF he wanted to come back, I'd sure love to see him back at Tech. Just my .02, what's your take?

Belly, I agree. If Coach Gailey wants him then it's A O K with me.

GO JACKETS!

I really don't want him back but it's ultimately up to Gailey. I would like to see Glenn Spencer get a shot. He's a bright young coach with a Tech background. I think he would do an excellent job.

I would always welcome Coach Roof back... and hope he does find his way back to the Flats one day...

I am inclined to agree flat out: Whatever Chan wants would be fine with me.

However, I am thinking more along the lines of 3518techie, I would hope his preference would be Spencer over Ted. Beyond that, I would be even more delighted to see someone selected that would be the best doggone DC we could ever imagine whether he would be chosen from the pro ranks or wherever. One who would make a thunderous noice from the first day of his selection.

I am not sure what you are referring to GTT.

If you mean, do I prefer to give Spencer a chance before bringing Roof back, I would say yes. I would also go along with Gailey if he decided to bring Roof back, but that would not be my first choice.

I have never been an opponent of Roof. Each time I brought Roof's name up, I always stated I thought he was hamstrung by O'Leary. However, I did say he was ultimately responsible because he could have bucked O'Leary.

I also stated, I thought the Duke move would be good for Roof and give him a chance to prove his worth on his own without O'Leary. I was a Roof fan, but not an O'Leary fan.

To be honest, I doubt Gailey would bring Roof back as DC. If he thought Roof would have been the right person as DC under him, he would have kept him the first time as DC.

If O'Brien is gone after this year, the staff would be purged for all practical purposes. I doubt Gailey would consider rebuilding the same situation on the defensive side of the ball.

Just my guess.

If Coach Tenuta happens to leave I would love for Coach Gailey to bring in Joe Lee Dunn. I know I am going to get flamed for this, but he is a great DC. If you think Tenuta was firey then you should hear Dunn. He was the only reason Ole Miss was any good in the late eighties and early ninties. He was OM interim head coach when they were going through probation and had a winning season. He was the only good coach on Miss. State's staff last year (including Sheril). I have had the fortune to be around him a little and he is really impressive of the kind of scheme's he puts out there. He does some of the best game planning to stop specific things offenses do that I have ever seen on any level. I think he would be an excellent choice if Coach Tenuta were to leave.

Has anyone been to the practices to see how the team is practicing? If so, could you post a report on how they look?

I am finally done with my final exams for law school. Two weeks for exams is killer. Although it was not fun, I would rather do that agan the have differential equations exam, civil engineering fluids exam, and a economics exam all in the same day. Yep that happened to me at ole Ma Tech. Luckily the economics was a breeze, because I couldn't add 2 + 2 after that.

Have a great Holidays everyone.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Didn't mean to make more out of your quote than was there. Just enjoyed your answer to the question in the way it was stated.

As the thread moved along your answer/post made me chuckle when you deferred to Bellyseries's answer. Didn't mean to imply anything. Belly and you both have glowing personalities on the board.

There Belly is having much to say as usual with only a few words, then you, ahoso, referred your answer to his post. You're not the usual poster to answer in a few written words. You referring to Belly as your asnwer was a real thing of beauty. It's a StingTalk thing with me.

I'm probably just way out there sometimes. Hope you guys and gals will come get me before it's too late.

I kind of like Joe Lee's aggressive defenses but the one thing I've head is that he has never changed his defense signals. Former players watching on TV say they know what defenses he is running. That would concern me if he came here.

Since Gailey tried demoting him once he got here I sincerely doubt Gailey would ask him to be his DC....Personally I would want someone else but ultimately it is Gaileys decision

dont think the call would go out to roof, please dont mention joe lee dunn, his defenses the past few years havent stopped sprayberry.

What's that address again, GTT? A car is leaving now.

GTT, if they come to get you, don't let them know where the rest of us are located!

I agree...great guy, great GT player but architect of some of our worst defenses. Let him coach backers but that is all.

It wouldn't do much good to have Roof back under the current circumstances....just like it didn't do much good to keep O'brien.
There are some situations that good or even great assistant coaches can't overcome.
Apparently we have to just let it play out....no matter how painful it becomes.
