To paraphrase from another of your posts, to be such a smart school, we make a lot of dumb decisions athletically. The so called $ alumni supposedly driving a lot of these decisions have made a lot of bad ones post CPJ. It’s looking pretty I’ll fated to have retained anyone from the previous staff.

The 4-2-5 cannot stop a running game unless you have two absolute studs at LB. Brooking and Rogers, maybe. The guys we have? No.

Look, I hate the 3-3-5, but our personnel are better for that system. We have two 340 lb monsters for NT and 4-5 guys who can rotate at DE. Then we can put 3 LB out there and no one has to go beast mode.

Excellent question, it would have to be someone within or someone not in the business at the current time. I just have to believe CBK had thought about this possibility.

Your LB’s have to be able to run, but not necessarily great athletes.

He makes little to no adjustments. He occasionally comes up with decent blitz schemes but must guess right. He does not command the scheme and seems like a light weight on the sidelines. He’s young, so maybe his time will come but it should be elsewhere.

True. If you are depending on your 2nd and 3rd level defenders to make stops again the run, they damn sure better be aggressive, physical, and sure tacklers. Our guys definitely have no e of those characteristics
 
Jiffy Jeff Clown and Nil has killed GT. Wake and an FCS win. Just terrible.
 
Had a feeling this change would take place after yesterday. I think CBK will do what he thinks is best to right the ship. My only question is why keep Thacker as an on field coach.

We will see starting Saturday night I suppose.
