Is it stupid or ridiculous to think that we should do everything we can to get Clemson as our last regular season game? I'm assuming that they would still want to play South Carolina on Thanksgiving weekend, but we could play our final game the week before. If it's Clemson, at least we play a meaningful game to finish the year.

Thoughts?

If Clemson was our final regular season game and it was held the weekend before Thanksgiving, wouldn't that mean we would play 12 games straight with no bye week?

Yeah, I thought about that and it sucks - but there are schools that do it. Vanderbilt does it every year, I think.

nah, I don't like it. I think I would definitely rather have Clemson on a set weekend in October, thought, but I just see the last weekend as rivalry weekend. Everyone plays their traditional rivals. Texas/Texas A&M, Florida/FSU, Clemson/Carolina, and GT/UGA...

I think it's best we keep it at the end. I want to yell to hell with Georgia all year then watch the players make it so

No, I know all of that. We don't have a say in whether or not the UGAg game gets moved, and I'm asking this based on the idea that they go ahead and move it to the CFA game.

What I'm asking is if the UGAg game is moved to the first game of 2011, should we try to play Clemson on the weekend BEFORE the week we would have played Georgia in November, and take our bye-week in the week typically reserved for the Georgia game.

As pointed out, it would mean playing 12 straight games.

NO, MIAMI. Miami has no late season rival, CLemson does.

The Coastal would finish with VPI v UVA, UM v GT, and UNC v Duke.

This is all just messing with my mind, and I don't have enough mind left to mess with.

I don't mind UGAG on Labor Day. Used to think it was a good idea under Gailey. Not so much under PJ, though, since it would give them 2 weeks to prepare.

For one year, if they guarantee us $1M+ to do it? Heck yeah. I mean, we're all just after dollars here anyway aren't we? Let's sell our souls for a piece of chicken. We might catch UGAG with 12 players in jail.

Ugag always starts slow, too, but then, so do we.

We need to do this when we havethe best chance to shine, and that is not when we're breaking in a new QB (NB: Joe Cox vs. OSU).

But that money would be killer, and both VA Tech and CU have it now, so we need us some. Not to meniton Alabama x2. That's really got to stink if you're UGAG.

It means two in a row in Atlanta, and it means balancing back our Home schedule - no thanks to the Little Girl.

Yeah, go ahead and do it.

I'd rather end @ Duke. That way I can go to the game after visiting family up in NC.

Clemson's last game is against South Carolina. They aren't going to screw up their tradition of having Carolina as their last game for us. Won't happen.

:laugher: You guys don't pay attention at all.

I'm saying that we would play Clemson the week before they played South Carolina and our bye week would be the last week of the regular season.

Don't think they will allow us to have a bye before the ACC championship game -- something about if we make the ACCCG, then we would have an advantage. Think all teams have to play that week prior.

Vanderbilt does it in the SEC? I know the chances of Vandy making it are slim-to-none, but the possibility is still there.

Not sure how Vandy does it. I thought the SEC had a rule like the ACC did.

"It's a lot harder than doing 12 games in 14 weeks," said Mike Finn, the ACC assistant commissioner for football. "This year, the conference put in a rule that everybody needs to play Thanksgiving weekend so that, if you're in the championship game, rest time is equal. It was a tough situation for Clemson. They have not played on Thanksgiving. Just to get an open date, they have to."

Yeah, The Jacket, was your motivation in all of this to get the bye week before championships? I don't know why you'd want to purposefully go without a bye week all season unless you were sure you'd be playing in the championship game. A little presumptuous?

Not at all. And I'm not saying it's good or bad. I'm interested in how we'd like to finish up the year in a season where we won't do it against Georgia.

After a week of this I do feel like the game will be moved in 2011 --so Tech should bring GA State in for the final game of the 2011 seson.

We should play at Hawaii and get a 13th reg season game.
