If you are down on our coaching in any way

you don't know anything about coaching football and I'm not going to explain it to you. Really.

I don't care if you played football or what level you played. FSU was better than us and that's why we lost. We had exceptional coaching, spotty talent (exceptional at some positions), and unparalelled effort, and that's why we had a chance.

Our players and coaches did almost every single thing that they could control. Some things are not a matter of willpower.

If you really want a bloodbath, go ahead and take away your run support to stop the pass. You go ahead and make that adjustment.

Some of you couch potatoes need to eject your "Waterboy" DVD and get back to reality.

I have never been more proud of a team and it's coaching than I am of this one.

And by the way - those of you who were absolutely taunting the Nole Fans at halftime - Had you ever seen an FSU/GT game before last night? Have you ever seen any college football? Are you aware of our depth problem?

There are 4 quarters in each game - sometimes more. If you must talk trash - and I don't suggest it - wait until you know the outcome.

Now, if you want to raise absolute hell the whole game, sit with me. Even respond to those from the dark side in a VERY rude manner when they start it. I'm all for it, but I just don't see any reason to start trouble with folks who didn't ask for it.

Wow Beeware how insightful. There's NO WAY FSU could have made ANY adjustments at halftime (including the holds) to counter our D. And you go to Rix to prove your point?

Typical

Beeware of your own idiocy

others

i dont normally respond this

after such a performance for
you to come out and act like
this, deserves a reaction

shame on you!!

Chris Rix: "Tech kept pressure on me the entire first half. For some reason, in the second half they backed off. I am not sure why but I am glad they did."
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Of all the things to to compain about BW, that's not it. Oh yeah, I'm sure the D just backed off

It wasn't F$U holding, our fatigue in the weather, Rix (the more experienced QB) finding a rhythm and getting rid of the ball faster, and offensive pass interference. It was the playcalling. Not to mention that the D is Tenuta's responsibility, Gailey wasn't resposible for less pressure on the QB. As far as playcalling, what do you suggest? Run - maybe up the middle, but their D was fresh and fast, we knew around the end wasn't working; Throw to the TE - they were too busy blocking and probably getting held; Throw to the WR - we tried. The playcalling might have been better, it wasn't working in the 4th Qtr, but what would have?

You want to argue about going for the TD rather than kicking the FG, or going for the PAT instead of the 2 pts, fine. Those arguments could go either way and hindsight is 20-20. But the D backed off?!?!?! Gimme a break...

We went to two tight end sets and other alternate strategies to protect our pocket. When you do that, you lose a weapon to throw to. When you don't, you get sacked by a FSU stud who's had rest because FSU stud #2 came in and spelled him.

These guys go against Ga Tech Stud, who is EXHAUSTED - the kind where you think your heart will beat out of your chest - and he is there still fighting to the last inch. Or maybe you put in Ga Tech "future stud who doesn't yet get it", or maybe even Ga Tech - "would have never seen the field without flunk gate", and he too fights to the death, but he's just not good enough to take blow after blow from any one of 3 NFL first rounders Pope, Boulware, or Dockett.

Same issues for the defense - at the second half - we WERE fighting not to lose, because we could not sustain for four quarters the attack that we enforced in the first half. There is only so much gas in the tank.

The first half was our shot to do the things we had to to win - the second half became our shot preserve what we had built.

It was clear to me at halftime that a lot of guys din't get this. Some of you seemed to have no idea what was coming - and worse some you still don't get it.

It's not being conservative. It's playing the hand your dealt and not whining about it. When you are tired and have no depth, you have to change your schemes to limit the damage.

FSU at Doak is not the time for on the job training for true freshmen. We still did it out of necessity.

I will repeat - we absolutely did every thing we could with what we had. I could go on and on about the things some people don't understand, but it's a waste.

I have a hard time believing any of the coach second guessers have ever been that guy - - the guy, who, after a whole few minutes of sitting, while the other side is out on the field, STILL just can't get enough air in his lungs.

Then it's your time to get back on the field and all you can think about is, "Don't be the one that lets us down."

When you are that guy, just once, you will understand why our coaches changed the things they did.

The X's and O's, you will never understand, I'll just tell you what's behind the decisions that drive them.

Bt the way - on our corner endzone TD we gave up. Cox (or who ever) did exactly what he was suposed to do. The WR tried to cut a slant and Cox completely disrupted his route. The WR ad libbed and caught his balance - Rix throws up a hope-so pass and gets lucky. That touchdown is why we lose.

The coaching was perfect, the execution was perfect - - it was FSU.

I can't believe anyone has the balls to ask for more.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">The combination of Tech's defense backing off the QB rush AND the totally haphazard not-to-lose play-calling by Chan Gailey in the second half cost us a game that we not only could have won but WE SHOULD HAVE WON.

I was at the game and it was absolutely pitiful listening to all the FSU fans run their mouths after the game...in a game they KNOW they should have lost.

Do you all find consolation in that? I can't believe GT fans have succumbed to even thinking that way! I support this team and want them to win. If they play someone who has more talent and outplayed us at every turn, fine - BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED IN OUR 2 LOSSES and is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

I find NO consolation in saying we should be 3-0 instead of 1-2! Different season, same old song and dance. Winning is everything in sports and if you're satisfied with this, we have definitely taken HUGE STEPS BACKWARDS in our thinking!

If we blitz like crazy then we get beat deep. Beeware did you not see all those PI penalties in the first half? Tired legs aren't even there to contest the long ball much less cheat. We chose our spots to blitz and didn't get there. I remember Deryl Smith getting a finger on Rix before he scrambled to the 4. Like most of the times, he didn't get there because he was held or the blocking was better not to mention he was winded.

MSTa, get off the agenda for a change. O'Leary never came this close and he played FSU teams that weren't any better than this.

You really are full of hatred and contempt for our coach, and why don't you just come out and say why?

Why do you have an agenda?

You're such a sniveling sorry excuse for a Tech fan. Like I said, I will gladly pay you for your tickets to keep your lousy ass out of our stadium.

I dare you to go up to Chan and that team and tell them the **** you post around here. You're a coward who hides behind your computer.

You what - PLEASE get the tape and look our defense between plays in the second half and in the first half.

If you do that, you don't even have to read my posts.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">BOReeeeee: And that's indeed what you are. It looks like you have accepted losing as well when GT was the better team? HOw about I buy you out to get you out of the stadium. I find NO solace in losing when you were better team on that day!

Maybe that's the only way you can convince yourself that all is 'rosy'! That has to be it because any real GT diehard can't look at that game and not be convinced it was blown!

An agenda? Looks like you have one in favor of losing when we shouldn't have. I on the other hand, I prefer to win when we should have! That's been my agenda through 6 coaches at GT and find it the only way to be. BOReeeeeee, life is can be tough and they there's losing games you shouldn't have!! THAT STINKS!

In principle, I agree with your statement. But in my opinon, on Saturday we were not the best team man for man. We just out played them for 53 minutes with a lot of heart, soul, and pure guts. Go back and look at a tape of the game, our D was very tired in those last two TD drives by FSU. In a close and physical game our lack of depth is going to cost us as it did with FSU. With that being said, we were still alive in the final two minutes and with a little luck we could have gotten into FG range. But it didn't happen, we lost. This game was, IMHO, no way blown. Am I happy about the loss--hell no. The only people celebrating this loss are Tech "fans" who want this coach to fail.

I am sure you felt no solace after all those games Tech lost under O'Leary to lesser teams.

MTA, if you are so high on this team, why did you pick them to lose 34-14 in the prediction contest? I know the contest is just a game, but I picked us to win in the contest and can take some positives from the game. Does it mean I accept losing? No.

BOR - great posts - I share your frustration - with MTA around, even the periodic Beeware bannings won't protect the board from irrational blather.
