If you bash Taylor Bennett you are no-football knowledge nerd..

If we have another game and a loss at UVA, i say put in Nesbitt and take our lumps. It is clear that he is the future.

Wow, WAY TOO early to say that. No offense, but you're an idiot about football if you believe that.

If we are going to burn Nesbitt's redshirt anyway, then I can see the argument to get him some experience; but that would basically mean we are throwing in the towel on this season and building for the future. I don't think I would throw Bennett under the bus just yet, BC simply matched up well against us; but I could have seen giving Booker a series or two last night just to see if something could generate some offense.

Basically, it seems that everyone is arguing that Bennett simply needs more experience. I don't disagree; but do we all realize that he is a Junior? There isn't much more time for him to learn the game.

I hear ya but I want to give him some more time with Bond. He has two years of Nix in his brain. Its going to take some time for Bond to fix that.

Bennett will be good. He just missed a couple of throws last night, that's all. Go jackets!

/agree

Bennett has already looked better than Reggie. The fault for this loss is not Bennett.

I just wish we had a QB that could complete 60% of his passes.

watch the game again. The drops should have easily been caught. You can't logically put this one TB.

Look at Ryan's carrer % he's 58%. Hell they should have thrown him under the bus his first year with 49% or in 06 when he had 15 Int's. Or benched him in this yrs NCS game he was 44% with an Int and only 142 yrds.

The defense blew this game for Tech...our's for giving up 435 yards in passing and theirs for holding our rush to just about natta!

Personally, optimist that I am, I think Bennet is going to EXPLODE on UVa. In a good way, that is.

The kid has had some of his best throws called back because of penalties. Between the penalties and dropped passes, he lost 100 passing yards. Considering we had NO running game, he did a good job.

So you douchebags that are whining about TB need to point your doody stained fingers somewhere else. He did his job. The defense didnt mount a consistent rush and seemed unable to cover lumbering tight ends.. The line was unable to open anything resembling a crack, much less a hole..

Thanks to TB, we didnt post a goose egg.

I guess the CFN writer doesn't know anything about football:

Do you think TB would be happy with his performance?

I'm sure Zemek knows all there is to know about football but he might have been a little like I was about a term paper I once wrote. I wrote a paper comparing two text books written on the same subject. I received an "A" on my paper. I never read either of the books that I compared.

Maybe Zemek watched the entire game...maybe he did not...or maybe he watched several games/programs at the same time. I wouldn't know.

I am certainly no football analyst. All I noticed was a team with a great senior QB that particular night defeat a team with a pretty fair junior QB the same night. It helped that the winning senior QB had a better supporting cast, including the officials, as well.

your agenda is abundantly clear.. any reason you would give RB or Nesbitt a 4 year chance and not give TB at least until mid-season to get comfortable? Nesbitt didnt show me anything against Samford.

Did you see the freaking game or even read the paper the next day?? One play a blitzing LB came through the line untouched, hit Nebitt head on, and yet he still bounced off him some how and gained 15- 20 yards. On a roll out he hit our WR 10- 15 yards down the field on an out pattern while on the dead run. Gailey recognized that play in the paper. I wish Taylor the best but in my mind, Nesbitt is clearly the future. And TB needs to keep his trap shut about down playing the opposition when they have just kicked our butts mainly because of their QB and TB was able to do nothing to win the game for us.

1) Bennett looked better than Nesbit vs Samford.

2) Nesbit wasn't even here for spring drills, and probably knows very little of the playbook.

3) You'd think Tech fans would be a little more wary of hopping on the "Athletic True Freshman Quarterback" band wagon after seeing how it panned out for us last time.

Wow.

The same [well respected posters] who claim that we should put in Nesbitt and 'take our lumps' are the same [wonderful peers] who will complain about every loss and an average bowl.

Bennett was exactly what we knew he would be. A good QB that won't lose the game for us (no int, no fumbles, no botched snaps, no bad handoffs, no timeouts at bizarre times,...). Only the biggest optimist thought he would take the team on his shoulders and consistently WIN games for us.

(Only one team in the ACC has that type of QB right now.)

I was on the record saying BC was the worst matchup for us. They stopped everyone else from running and they stopped us too. They have by far the best QB we will face with a serviceable running attack. Is there any doubt in any of your minds that we would've won with Ryan as our QB?

Unless other teams are allowed to tackle our defense again, this team is capable of a great year. I don't care at all about 2008 right now. This team can beat every ACC team we have left on the regular season schedule with Bennett from the BC game. Why in the [hot location] would we want to give up on 2007? VT and Miami will be tough games, but they aren't nearly as good as BC. Clemson will be tough, but thankfully they are on the other side.

Hmmm...a very mobile QB w/ an erratic arm. Sound familiar? I'm with you beej...until/unless things get really bad for Bennett.
