In Scoring Offense, GT ranked 17th of 114 D-IA, 10th of 63 BCS teams, and 2nd of 8 ACC teams only behind FSU.

In Scoring Defense, GT ranked 26th of 114 D-IA, 18th of 63 BCS teams, and 2nd of 8 ACC teams only behind FSU.

So much for the theory that we have traded our bad D/good O under O'Leary for our current good D/bad O. It was like that Hamilton's senior year but it wasn't like that the whole time as these stat's indicate.

Based on those stats,

"In Scoring Defense, GT (19.40) ranks 5th out of 12 ACC teams"

Tenuta's defense pales in comparison to Roof's:

"In Scoring Defense, GT ranked ... 2nd of 8 ACC teams only behind FSU."

I've been thinking the idea of Roof for head coach was somewhat ill concieved until I saw this. Now, it's the Tenuta for HC crowd that looks like they need to reconsider. The possibility of losing Tenuta if we change coaches may not be as big a deal as we sometimes think.
