The Yellow Jackets appear to be blessed with a commitment from S Brandon Leslie of Edison HS in Fresno, California. Young gun Leslie has been tabbed a 3 star recruit by Scout.com. What the scouting report is not saying is that Brandon is starting on a very strong HS team & it looks like winning a starting job on this team is a pretty good effort. Brandon seems to be a very solid Tech recruit for the Class of '08 who has been highly interested in playing @ Bobby Dodd stadium for a while.
Here's the kicker; Edison HS has 3 other Juniors who are tabbed as part of the Top 100 in the nation for the Class of '09 as compiled by Jamie Newberg with Scout.com. Ga Tech is listed in all 3 of these 4 stars players' top 5 or 6 college choices. These 3 listings, to go with 1 of the South Carolina players & some of the Georgia players, makes Georgia Tech kinda stand out on this Top 100 page.
The Edison HS prospects are CB Cliff Harris, WR Rolando Jefferson & the Head Coach's son Safety T.J. McDonald. Any of these young men would be a welcome addition to the Yellow Jacket roster. Hopefully, 'our guy' Leslie may help to get them to GT;).
Who is the Asst Coach working California? Are we actively recruiting Cal as we don't get much from there (Gerris Wilkinson & Travis Parker, in the Class of '01, are the only 2 I recall)? Could we spread out from the Fresno area a little or are we just 'lucky' at this 1 HS?
