Nothing like a uniform thread to distract us from less important things like people getting dismissed.

Its real. Its just a pad that slips over the helmet.
 
UA bringing the style, running new ideas by the players during the preseason.

Seriously, if they are actually safer, why don't we wear them in games?

Believe that the general theory is "safer helmets" are what has caused the increase in injuries over the years with players thinking their safer so putting themselves (and others) in more compromising positions.

The same people who say this point to rugby as if it's somehow safer. Watch any rugby match on TV and you'll see multiple players enter concussion protocol. I question how they manage to field teams after 3 games with the number of injuries you see.

Rugby matches are over fairly quickly too
 
I wonder how beneficial that actually is. If concussions are caused by your brain shaking from impact, how much would some soft padding actually help?
 
Y'all told me it was a stupid idea when I advocated for giant padded helmets. Well

It's probably not a solution, but it does help.

This is not boxing where more head protection means more hits to the head.
